Have any of you escape brides done or made plans for snacks besides cake at your cake cutting? my mom wants people to be able to have something besides sugar to hold them until dinner. Just wondering if it's an option and if so how much it might cost :scared1:

I have heard that you can arrange to have snacks there, but I don't know how much they'd charge. Also, there's not a whole lot of time to eat at the cake cutting. But if you are able to do this, let us know! :thumbsup2

What time is your ceremony and your dinner? My ceremony is at 2:30 and then dinner is at 5:30. So, I think just cake at 3pm is perfect. But if I was doing a Noon ceremony... then idk. I think I would have bumped up to a 10:30am wedding and then done a lunch reception instead of dinner.

I would still love to hear about the snacks available and the prices if anyone does know!

We're doing 2:30 and 5:30 too. I think cake is plenty, but you know how mom's can be when they get something into their heads. I think we should save the money and put it towards more drinks at dinner! :drinking1

For the amount of $$ we are spending and # of courses we'll have at dinner, there is no way I'd want to fill my guests up on snacks. Most guests will eat before the wedding, around noon. So a little cake is plenty and then dinner at 5:30. Mom's require a little hand holding when it comes to certain things.

My mom has been fantastic. Really, an absolute dream :cloud9: I've actually been really shocked and greatful. It's my FMIL that has been the evil, horrible naysayer!!! Sometimes I just want to wave a wand and make her disappear. Grrrrrrr. pixiedust: I've now decided to just do what I want, how I want. If she has a problem, tough stuff. The only thing she's going to do is make herself look like a fool.

:cool2:

eek! How did I turn this into a FMIL rant. Okay sorry. Back to your regularly scheduled cake thread...
