Question, my brother and fiancé just booked their wedding for December. Their contract should be arriving this week. They want to set up a planning session the end of May when we are in Disney for SWW. Their question is, will they need to buy park tickets or will they be able to use their APs that are included in the escape package?

As long as their vouchers arrive in time they can activate them as soon as they wish. They might want to let their coordinator know they'd like to use those passes right away. Since their wedding is in December if they activate in May they'll still have plenty of time to use over their honeymoon.

Hi OP! Congratulations to your Brother and Future SIL! My Sister is having an Escape Wedding in November and her annual passes came in the mail about 4 weeks after Disney got their contract and Escape deposit. You do know that there are no in person planning sessions or meetings for Escape weddings? Since it's a package type deal, Disney says they do all planning for Escape by phone and email.

Have fun at SWW, we are trying to make it there for one of the weekends too, but my work schedule is not cooperating! Boooooo!

Thank you! We did not know their are no planning sessions for escape weddings :-( she was really hoping to discuss difference cake options and bouquet upgrades. Oh well, no big deal! Congrats to your sister as well!

Thank you! That's what they were hoping for!! I will definitely tell her to contact her coordinator about their traveling dates in May.

Can't guarantee of course that the coordinator can do anything but you never know. You get a voucher so she'll need to activate her pass at a park gate (or DTD I think) when she gets down there, it will then be good for 366 days after activation. We had a Wishes event and I used mine when I came down for my planning session the Oct prior. Husband couldn't come, so he activated his when we went for a long weekend in Dec for his birthday.
I skipped over the part where she's having an Escape wedding. The other poster is right, there is no planning session for Escape. You might be able to poke around Franck's if someone is around, but they won't set up a cake tasting or anything of that sort.

Thank you! I will tell her to reach out to the coordinator ASAP. She wasn't looking to do a tasting, just possibly talk about upgrading the cake design and her bouquet and obviously experience Francks :-) She also wanted to discuss other options besides the ballroom with the cake cutting ceremony. Apparently their are some outdoor locations that can accommodate the cake cutting besides the ballroom.

Just a reminder, since I think it got a bit lost earlier in the thread - Escape does have a planning session, but it is all over the phone. So, she should get the chance to talk about that with her planner. Escape just doesn't get an in person planning session (which is what generally includes a cake tasting). When she is down there, she may be able to schedule a site visit, though, if there are a few sites they are interested in and want to see.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Thank you! That's exactly what she wants :)
