Hello, everyone! I'm patiently awaiting the October schedule to come out, but I thought I would share the TENTATIVE honeymoon itinerary. Our main goal of the honeymoon is to relax, so know that there will be plenty of stopping in at the resort, shopping at DTD, etc, etc.

Here we go!

Saturday, September 27 ~ At Home/Red-Eye
After we get married, we plan to host a special "thank you" brunch in the park for our family. We'll then catch the Red Eye and fly to Orlando that night from Portland, Oregon.
  • Breakfast: In Wedding-night Hotel
  • Lunch: Park-B-Q
  • Dinner: At Airport (?)

Sunday, September 28 ~ Arrival Day/Grand Floridian
Today we'll arrive in Orlando, take DME to the GF to check-in, and then play it by ear. Maybe we'll check our DHS or just hang out in the resort. We'll see.
  • 6:00ish a.m. - Arrive in Orlando
  • Breakfast: In Hotel
  • Lunch: (?)
  • Dinner: Victoria & Albert's

Monday, September 29 ~ Grand Floridian
Magic Kingdom
Today will be our first Magic Kingdom day. We'll probably eat most of our breakfasts in the concierge lounge - as we are mostly continental people.
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: Cinderella Royal Table
  • Dinner: (?)

Tuesday, September 30 ~ Grand Floridian
Epcot
This will be our first Epcot day, and we'll probably do EMH. We're very excited about the F&W festival, so we'll probably spend most of the day visiting the food booths and free wine seminars.
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: Food & Wine Fest (?)
  • Dinner: Food & Wine Fest (?)

Wednesday, October 1 ~ Grand Floridian/Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney Studios (?)
Today we'll switch hotels from the GF to AKL. No schedule yet for October, so from here on out, I'm just guessing what we will do each day.
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: Mama Melrose (?)
  • Dinner: Counter (?)
  • Dessert: Sci-Fi (?)

Thursday, October 2 ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge
Animal Kingdom
Today we plan to make it an AK day and do the Sunrise Safari, followed by the offered breakfast.
  • Breakfast: Safari
  • Lunch: Flame Tree BBQ (?)
  • Dinner: Boma (?)

Friday, October 3 ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge
???
Today, we'll probably go to the spa/miniature golfing/just take it easy. Maybe cap the night with the Polynesian dinner show.
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: (?)
  • Dinner: Aloha Dinner Show (?)

Saturday, October 4 ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge
Park Hop (?)
Today, we'll probably visit things we liked from the last week. Maybe check out a water park? In the evening, we'll attend the Party of the Senses (if they still plan on doing them Saturday evenings).
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: DTD (?)
  • Dinner: Party of the Senses

Sunday, October 5 ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge
Park/Resort Hop (?)
We haven't seen too many resorts, so we might check out the different hotels today. Also, we got engaged at the French Quarter, so I think I'll plan a carriage ride at Port Orleans to relive those memories. This is also a tentative MNSSHP date - we might check that out, as well.
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: Resort Restaurant (?)
  • Dinner: (?)

Monday, October 6 ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge
Universal Studios
We got tickets to Universal Studios, so we think we might use them today. We're both looking forward to Islands of Adventure, as we have never been.
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: Universal (?)
  • Dinner: Universal (?)

Tuesday, October 7 ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge
Today, we'll probably revisit the F&W festival if we really liked it - if not, we'll do whatever we want. Also, we thought we would try our hand at horseback riding.
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: F&W (?)
  • Dinner: (?)

Wednesday, October 8 ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge
Today's our last full day at WDW. We'll probably do more hopping.
  • Breakfast: Boma Breakfast
  • Lunch: (?)
  • Dinner: California Grill (?)

Thursday, October 9 ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge/Cruise
Today, we leave on our short sample cruise. Neither of us have cruised before, so we thought this would be an excellent preview!
  • Breakfast: Concierge Lounge
  • Lunch: On ship (?)
  • Dinner: (?)

Friday, October 10 ~ Cruise
Today, we are in Nassau.
  • Breakfast: Room Service (?)
  • Lunch: Nassau (?)
  • Dinner: (?)

Saturday, October 11 ~ Cruise
We are at Castaway Cay today.
  • Breakfast: Buffet (?)
  • Lunch: Castaway Cay (?)
  • 4:30pm - Onboard Call
  • Dinner: (?)

Sunday, October 12 ~ Cruise/Go Home :(
Today, we have to go back to Portland. We don't leave Orlando until 6:00 p.m., though. We might get a day room at the hotel in the airport and recoup.
  • Breakfast: On the Ship
  • Lunch: Airport - Macaroni Grill
  • 6:00ish p.m. - Depart for Portland

This is of course very, very rough - there will probably be a thousand changes before we even walk down the aisle. I hope to keep everyone updated and post a photo report as we go/when we're back.

Thanks,
Nate

Looks great!!! You are going to have SO much fun, I'm jealous!!! We had our disneymoon in December and it was seriously the best trip ever. We did lots of relaxing and down time, which I've never really done at Disney but it really made the trip. There are so many romantic things to do at Disney, most of which you are doing, so you will have an amazing trip!! I can't wait to hear about it!

Thanks, Hillary! I'm going to read your report right now!

I'll post more as soon as we book some ADRs and such. :)

Wow, that sounds like it is going to be an amazing honeymoon! This is my first post as I am just beginning to plan our Disneymoon, which is quite a ways away, but I figure I can never start planning a honeymoon too soon!

I agree with Hillary in that relaxing is not something I am used to doing at Disney World! But hopefully the honeymoon will be different. ;) The itinerary is a great idea!

A suggestion: If you do go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, make sure to eat at Mythos at least once! It's the best theme park restaurant in the WORLD (as voted on by the Theme Park Insider) :thumbsup2 .

If you're up to it (even though this might not be the *best* honeymoon suggestion  ), you should totally try Halloween Horror Nights! It's pretty intense (okay, maybe "a lot" intense" :upsidedow ) but if you take the Behind the Scenes tour, it'll be a lot less scary! It's a must-do if you're in Universal in October!

I would try to give some Disney suggestions but the ladies in this forum are ten times better at giving suggestions about Disney than I could ever hope to be so I figure I'll stick to Universal  .

Good luck and I hope you have an AMAZING honeymoon! :goodvibes

ClemsonGirl: You are correct; you can never start planning too early. I booked the hotels as soon as we knew where we wanted to stay, and I'm glad I did.

MariaLovesJon<3: I've heard wonderful things about Mythos, and I hope to eat there if we have time - or if we can get in. We will not be doing the Halloween Horror Night as I am terrified of that stuff. It's embarrassing, really. So we'll be going early in the week on a non-HHN night. But, thanks for the suggestion!

Wow... your plan looks awesome!!!!
It will be absolutely magical.

If you are planning to go to Mythos check out their hours. When we went there last time around September their hours were really strange (it's off peak season). So make sure to check it out so you won't be disappointed.

Ok, everyone - we've got a firmer plan in place and a couple of things booked!

Very prepared - it's cool that you're doing 2 resorts. We wanted to do a cruise too but it didn't work out.
