Day 3, Monday August 27th

I had decided last night, that I was not going to get my kids up early this morning. It's just too hard on them. MK was the only park I felt we really needed to rush to. I got up about 8:15 and showered, then dh showered, and finally I woke the kids about 8:45. Now, keep in mind, my son is a really early riser, especially on vacations, but this trip they both slept great. We also had great dark curtains and a room that didn't face the sunrise, so that helped a lot. After we ate breakfast, we headed to MGM. I think we got there about 10. Our first stop was fastpasses for RNR. At this point scheduling was a little tight, ds wanted to see Indy, and I wanted to take dd to see Beauty and the Beast, which we missed last time. We walked over to Indy, and they were still seating the first show, so ds and dh went in. I went to the Indy stand and bought an Indy pin (I love Harrison Ford, so I had to have it). We then went by the Little Mermaid to see what times the shows were. They were about the seat on, and then the next one was at the same time as Beauty and the Beast was. The CM said to do Beauty and the Beast first since they have fewer shows. We were about to head there, when dd decided she was not doing anything until she saw Ariel sing LOL. So, we watched Voyage of the Little Mermaid. That was OK with me, since that is my favorite movie. Part of Your World, always gives me goosebumps for some reason. Dd is totally mesmerized by this show, I love to watch her face while she watches. When it was over, we headed toward RNR to meet ds and dh to use our fastpasses. Dh rode first, got out in about 20 minutes, then I went. In my case, being alone worked in my favor everytime we rode, as I got put in the next car, since there was someone else alone. I just LOVE this ride. The first time I always get a little nervous, and wonder, do I really want to do this? Then as soon as we take off, I am thinking, YES I do! LOL. We headed off for lunch after this. Dd is very picky but loves potatoes. I stopped to buy her a baked potato, and they went ahead to the backlot express. I gave her the potato then got our food. By this time it was 12:30 and I figured it would be jammed with long lines, but again I was wrong. No lines, and a ton of open tables. I love eating in places with AC LOL. Before I ate my burger, I grabbed fastpasses for Star Tours for ds, since it was right outside. After lunch, it was almost time for their fastpass window, so we decided to check out the line for the backlot tour first. Big long line here, we were too hot to wait. Walking down the street in the backlot is really hot, it seems hotter than most other places. Dh and ds went on Star Tours and I took dd to walk through some shops, to cool off while we waited. Finally, some shopping for me!!!! We didn't end up buying anything yet, but I found a lot of stuff I liked. I wanted to wait until we went to Downtown Disney since I could use my DC card there. Back to the pool for another afternoon of swimming, and some dinner in our swimsuits from Hurricane Hanna's. Our plan now was to head back for Fantasmic. We got there at 7:30, 60 minutes prior to showtime. Strike 1! There were hundreds of people waiting in line, and we were told it was now standing room only. There was no way our kids could stand for an hour, only to not be able to see anyway. We were disappointed, and a little irritated. Especially dd, she loves Fantasmic. We strolled around for a little while, and ds and dh rode the Great Movie ride. Wow, that took forever. I decided I would rush over on a day later in the week and book the dinner package, since I had read we could only book on the day of the show at MGM. There was no way we were risking waiting in line again. After we took the boat back to the hotel, I decided to ask at the front desk if that was the current rules for the package. She says I can book it for you up to 7 days in advance. So right there, she booked me us the dinner package for Hollywood and Vine on Thursday night. I'm so glad I asked. Wish I had asked earlier, as it could have saved our evening LOL. We topped off our evening with ice cream from Beaches and Cream.

sorry you missed Fantasmic! hope you get to see it later in the week. enjoying your reports so far!
