I was hoping to carry my baby girl in the ergo for at least part of the day, but I was reading another post where someone said babies can only go on rides in a forward facing carrier. Is this true? My ergo does not go forward facing. Does anyone have experience using an ergo? She will be on my chest (not a back carry) but her face will be towards me, not outward...

Back in 2009, we rode so many rides with our then 4-mo old. I had him in the Ergo (best thing EVER!). We were politely told on all rides except small world to take our baby and put him facing forward. Cradling him was fine. I would guess it's still pretty standard to take out baby - mostly to ensure lap belts fit properly. Even the tame rides have them of course!

N.b. Forgot to add I kept on the carrier, just popped my son out and after ride, popped him back in, carrier never came off! My son was extremely easy going and was fine going in and out so this was not a big deal at all. Good luck!

I rode tons of rides with my kids facing me in a carrier. Pirates, small world, canal boats, haunted mansion, etc. Some lap bar rides are a problem, but not all.

I was just there on Sunday and before that inn late May. Between the two trips, I think we've gone on all the rides w/o a height requirement. Every ride allowed me to keep dd in the Ergo except Roger Rabbit. On Roger Rabbit, the baby needs to be on the seat. When taking the baby out, they failed to mention this to me. Had I known, I would not have ridden the ride! They didn't tell me the baby had to sit until I was pulling down the safety bar! It's NOT a good ride for a little one! But yes, the Ergo is great at DL. DD has slept thru several great rides on her 2 trips so far!

Just take her out. Use the Ergo for walking around and some of the line-standing, and then get some laptime for the rides.

That it's even an option for you to sit while wearing the baby is amazing to me. I couldn't sit even for a second while wearing DS, just peeved him immediately!

We rode everything with the kiddo in the ergo. He slept through pirates on my chest in the ergo. Heh

We LOVED our Ergo in January at WDW for our 9 month old. Made lines super easy.
Of course she slept through all of the rides and character meets, but was wide awake half way through carousel of progress and all of our meals!!!!

I carried both my girls in Ergos at WDW and DLR. I loved doing that because when they fell asleep, I could still do stuff. I kept them in the carrier if they were sleeping, but if they were awake, I took them out and faced them out to enjoy the ride.

This is GREAT info for me since we are bringing our DS who will be about 2 months on our trip. I have this re-occurring nightmare that I have to hold him on a ride and I drop him (or someone else does it), so my plan is to keep him in the ergo on all the rides I can just in case lol

The baby will still be using the infant insert, right? So that's not even parent-facing, is it? Isn't it sort of curled up? Might not have any issue at all.

I have a Beco (like an Ergo) and DS gets so sweaty in the grocery store that I don't think he will last outside in the sun.

Anyone have hints for a sweaty baby in a carrier? I was planning to alternate carrier and stroller. That just becomes a pain when he naps - someone will have to stay off the rides and guard the baby! :)

When are you going? Just asking cause that Ergo insert can be warm! I used my Sakura Bloom sling for summer trips with my littles. Much cooler. I also personally didn't like the Ergo until 4-5 months old. That insert is just a pain.

How fun! I took my youngest DS at 2 months. Carried him in my moby wrap the entire time. Worked fantastic! I highly recommend the baby care centers. Total life savers! I spent a good chunk of time in them that trip, but it was really fun. Only ride they told me to take him out was Roger Rabbit, so I passed on that ride.
