Okay, I've been researching the heck out of ereaders in an effort to choose which one I'll be buying (I will be getting a Nook!!!). I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and get it now, or wait until closer to Christmas...

Anyone heard/anticipate the prices dropping even more during the holidays? I know that Apple's going to be offering something new (a while ago I read something about a "surprise" from them in Nov...)...I'm wondering if whatever it is that they're releasing will create a price war... ;)

Any ideas?

Congrats on figuring out the one you want!!! :)
It took me a whole month of daily research online and in stores doing that. My head was spinning with so much information... :lmao:

I think with any technology item there's always a chance that something "bigger, better and newer" coming right after you purchase. At least that's almost always happens to me... :rotfl:

Here's my thought:
We're already in Sept... black friday and holidays are coming up. If I were you, I would wait. Just because you're only 2 months to BF... BUUUUTT... I would also think about these:

1. Decide what is your tipping price point. IF the new one were to come up more expensive than the current price, would you be ok with that? Although that might mean a huge reduction on the current model... so there might be no downside... :)
2. How much do you need/want the device these next 2 months before BF? Plus there's no guarantee that there'll be anything new then...
3. If and when the next round of ereaders come out, you might be in the same position thinking "Will they reduce price again for Christmas holiday?... etc. etc."

My personal best decision maker was the price point. I've been reading about ereaders and thought that they were too expensive. I said I'd definitely buy one IF the price were to go to $99... I was lucky enough to pay attention during the recent price war/reduction period and scored a Nook wifi for $149 with a $50GC. So my device cost was close enough to $99.

Anyways, just letting you know how I made my decision. Hope it helped!
