ER Premiere... (spoilers)

I realized quickly that ER premiere was tonight. Let's discuss.... (scroll down)

It was pretty boring! I knew they would get out of th car, and Elgin would die. You knew Kovach would go get Abby. It was nice to see Abby as a MD!

And I saw it coming with Carters SO. (I never liked her character anyway).


I've been watchingER since the pilot episode, and it was just sort of blah... eh.

It didn't wow, jump or surprise me. It didn't do it for me.

Although the opening part really freaked me out- how awful is it to know you were going under the water and not be able to do much about it? A big phobia of mine- drowning. Shudder!!

I wasn't particularly thrilled with it either.

I like Carter and I like Abby but I've never cared for Kerry Weaver. I'm undecided yet about Kovach and Sam. Is Dr. Susan Lewis still on? I don't remember seeing her tonight?

I see they've brought in a 'heart throb' with the addition of Shane West. Maybe they're shooting for a younger audience. I watched faithfully til Dr. Green died then took a bit of a break out of protest, lol. Not really protest but I was upset as he was one of my all time faves! I always thought Mark Green and Susan Lewis should've gotten together.

I'll probably watch but not be too upset if I miss a few.

Well, I liked it... I am such a sucker for ER, I swear it makes me cry every time. And I like Thandie Newton's character, I liked her and Carter together so I am sad to see her go. I have also watched ER since the beginning. It's been around for a while and nothing new, but the show still does it for me. That's just MHO

I have not seen all the shows, and I forget what happens since last season, but it kept my interest, I really like Abby, the Indian doctor, and Pratt, couldn't believe they almost killed him. Evidently Carters girlfriend lost the baby, what happened, I missed that?

Carla, they explained Susan not being there with an aside remark that she is on maternity leave... it was at the beginning when Weaver was asking where all the other doctors were. I wish we got to actually follow Susan a little more- seems like there is never any focus on her character anymore.

OK that spoiler wasn't good enough...I missed the show, first time ever I swear. What happened? Where is Carter's girl? I know the baby died. Abbey and Kovach I thought he and Sam would make it. Has Kerry gotten her son back? What about the asian doctor ( i can never remember her name) and the black doctor who used to date her? Elgin? was that the passenger with them? Remind me who that was. OH GOSH!!!

Carters girl is going back to Africa. Carter proposd and she didn't say yes, said she needed more time.

Kerry got her son. It was the only happy thing.

Jing May and Pratt were in a car, with Elgin. Some crazy guy started shooting him, and they wound up in the river. Chen and Pratt surivived, and Elgin died.

Hopetobee- Kem was really close to her due date when she and Carter noticed that the baby hadn't shown signs of movement in a while. They went and had an ultrasound, and found out that the baby had died. Kem had to be induced and go through labor and delivery to deliver the baby. It was heartbreaking- she was on the Maternity ward, and all these other happy couples with healthy babies were all around.

Kovach went and got Sam, not Abby - she left at the end of the season because her ex was back and its her way of dealing with things. He tracked her down (of course through her son!)

Abby is a doctor now

Added 2 new interns that we've met so far

The kid they were taking home in the car died. Pratt almost died, but is okay - what is her name? Ming Lee, anyways, she's okay, too.

Carter and his love scattered the ashes of their baby, and she left to go back home... says she loves him, but needs some time. Shes obviously distraught over the loss, and has shut him off.

Kerry got custody of her baby, but only with guidelines that the grandparents keep him when shes at work, and split holidays. The grandparents decided this, not the judge.

And a bunch of other small storylines... I hope thats all!!

My opinion - I love ER, and this episode really didnt leave me disappointed... looking forward to another great season!

I thought it was a little predictable tonight.

Also didn't like Carter's SO, so no loss there to me. They never developed her character enough for me to start to like her. Although I sobbed enough to get a headache when she lost the baby last season.

Once Weaver started getting those phone calls/messages, I knew they were giving her the baby back.

I figured that Chen and Pratt would be ok, but I didn't remember that Algin (??) was in the car with them from last year. Were any of them actually hit by the bullet? Was that why Algin was paralyzed?

Also still missing Dr. Green. And you're right, where was Dr. Lewis????

Kovac and Sam will be cute together this season. Her son's a little over the top though, isn't he? I thought the motel guy was going to call the police.

Still, I'll watch next week and most every week I can!

No, just a nice kid who they were taking home. He had had some medical problem- I can't think of what it was right now- and they took a liking to him.

Elgin had diabetes, from being severely
overweight...
Last season Pratt & Ming Lee (now I'm confused
about her name?) kept trying to
convince him that he needed serious help,
but he wouldn't leave his family to get it.
They were very poor and lived in some projects.
Pratt & Ming Lee went to Elgins' apartment
house to give him medicine at least,
and I think they convinced him to get some help.
When they were taking Elgin home,
or maybe it was to the hospital to finally
start some treatment, there was an
aggressive driver tailgating them.
When the driver went around them,
Elgin flipped him off from the back seat,
that's when the guy pulled the gun.
Pratt & Ming Lee never knew what happened,
or why the guy started shooting.

Did I write Abby in the first post? I did mean sam. Sometimes i cut and Paste names, so I may have done that.

I've been with ER since day one. Its getting predictable. I won't Tivo it, but I'll catch it if I can.

Who wants to bet this is ER's last season? All the other biggies in its era have gone away. (Friends, Chicago Hope -- the big competitor, and others).


Its just not time for medical dramas of that type anymore.

The Chinese doctor who used to be "Deb" is now "Jing Mei" (although my spelling may not be correct.) Do we all know that that actress provided the voice for Mulan?

The actress' name is Ming Na but the character name is Jing Mei (sp?) Chen . She was known as Deb when she was a character early in the series...

I knew she was Mulan...

I liked last night, but it wasn't as gripping as it usually is. It had some great one liners though. Nice to see Frank back at the front desk.

Wasn't it actually Pratt and Neela last year who were taking care of Elgin? I believe that's why she insisted that she sew up the body before his mother got there.
