I couldn't find any where else on DIS to post this question... so it's back to my friends on the College Board!
Has anyone been through the equity audition process... specifically as a dancer
? I am attending one next week and have a couple questions:
1) How many routines are there? It recommends character shoes for the jazz routine, but do I need other shoes for other routines?
2) What is the focus of the audition? There are lots of kicks in the show so I'm assuming they'll be in the audition, but what about turns and leaps?
3) How many "casts" are there? I realize there are 7 women a cast, but are there two or three casts? Maybe two with a couple who float between days to fill in?
4) Can performs resign a contract for another year, or do they have to go through the audition process again?
5) I know the contract starts in late June, do rehearsals start before then?
Whew - I hope someone out there can help me! Thanks!
