EPSON printer help needed -- wrong color printing

does anyone have and Epson that might have some insight for me? i'm having trouble with the color that's printing. i.e., i have my pet-swap quote in a word document in brown but it's printing purple. i have emailed Epson but thought i'd check with the experts too

Are you running out of one of your ink colours? If your cartridge is low that could be it. Or printing on coloured paper?

I know on my computer that the color varies from the word doc to to the printer. How did you select your color? Did you pick more colors the get different ways to get color, the crayon box, the hues, etc?

Do you want to e-mail it to me and I can see if it prints differently? If so I'll PM you my e-mail addy.

i just did color through the toolbar, drop down, picked font then the box opens. i picked it through custom colors -- but i've done this before. i'm not sure -- if you wouldn't mind trying to print it that could elminate Word as the villian. thanks!

Whenever I'm low on ink, my pictures print purplish.

You might have a clogged print head. It gives the same results as if out of a color of ink. Try doing the "cleaning" cycle on the printer.

I agree with this. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 and back around Christmas I was trying to print some pix that were largely brown, but they kept coming out purplish. The light yellow was showing as low, but I wasn't getting a warning about it. When I finally broke down & ran the "clean print heads" test, I was shocked at how bad they were! LOL After cleaning them everything printed fine again. Of course I'd already run to the store & bought a replacement. (When in doubt read the directions last...that's my motto. )

Have you run a nozzle check from your print menu? It will print out the different colors and you can see if they are all printing.

Have you calibrated your monitor so you are seeing the colors correctly on your monitor?
