Epicuriouser & Curiouser: A Dining Review ~ 10/19-10/28/07

Thanks Honeybee for a very entertaining food review! We're thinking about going on the DDP for our next trip so now I have some good ideas about where to book ADRs. CG is at the top of the list!

Nono! This can't end! Even a review of your visiting your local Burger King will suffice until you get back to Disney again!:rotfl2:
Kenyan Coffee BBQ Braised Short Ribs? Coffee and meat....oh the drool....Think I'll pour some Maxwell House over a Hot Dog to get me thru. Your reviews have been informative and entertaining and I wish that your trip would have been for 30 days so we could see some more reviews. (If I was paying for it that would have been a go, right? LOL)
fabu job Honeybee!:cheer2:

I agree with what everyone else has already stated - I hate to see your reviews end. Please tell us you'll be doing the reviews from your most recent trip soon!!:woohoo:

Thanks so much for the wonderful reviews - you've made me laugh out loud and drool simultaneously which does nothing to convince my husband that I'm not completely barking. And let's not even talk about what happens when I'm at work. :lmao:

Honestly... very entertaining and very informative reviews. Hope to see more from your most recent trip because reading this has been a delight.

Oh, and you quoted Beavis ... :worship: :worship: :worship: I love Cornholio!! :rotfl2:

Beavis rules! He rules! Heheh heh heh hmm heh.

You are me muse, oybolshoi. (Why a leprachaun voice works best there, I'm not sure. :confused3) Seriously though, I've been so entertained by your dining reviews and trip reports since joining the DIS that I had to give it a shot. It was really fun to write and also gratifying to know that it was enjoyed!

Fun! Planning where you will eat is the best part! CG is definitely our favorite. Hope you enjoy it, too.

We've done the DDP a couple of times. The only problem is we always pay OOP for more TS meals and end up with a bunch of leftover CS. I'd like to try the DxDP next year. 3 TS meals a day, baby. I'm not sure it's humanly possible, but we can die trying.

Thanks so much. I would like to do a dining review for my January trip. I just have to get my pictures organized and whatnot. It will be fresher in my mind than October, so easier in some ways than the last one.

I'm so sad that your reviews have come to an end. I have so enjoyed your reviews and pictures. You've helped me with some of my future dining choices.:yay:

I laughed and drooled my way through all ten pages! GREAT reviews and wonderful humor!:thumbsup2

I have really enjoyed reading your reviews, thanks for sharing them with us. Those nachos look amazing - I want them now!

Laur's princess:

Great reviews! I love your sense of humor! :lmao: I've been off the boards for a few months because I just get so homesick for Disney that I drive myself in to a state of major depression. :surfweb: Now I need my fix and hopefully will be able to talk hubby in to a trip this year.

Can't wait to read your reviews on your next trip!

I finally "meet" another disney fan in the RDU area and you're moving!!!!! Enjoy Wilmington- too many people there for me- I'm a Okracoke kinda girl :thumbsup2

Maybe we can all meet up before you move.

I just found your reviews and enjoying them! I see my friend Tigerkat has been hanging around...Kathy, you have to give me a heads up when you happen apon great reviews such as this one! :thumbsup2

I only got up to page 4 though so I'll be back...gotta go cook dinner...one of my favorite recipes of TigerKats (from the Whats for Dinner thread)...Bolognese Sauce...but boy oh boy, I cannot wait to try Blue Zoo in June!

Thanks for the great pics and reviews!

Soooo funny about your Boma breakfast hostess issues... we were there January before last: my mom, stepmother (uh, dad's exwife... yeah...), sister and I, and they beeped us, so we went to the counter. The hostess CM said we'd be seated next, and she put the paper with our name down beside her, rather than in the little file thing they use to sort names.

Two other parties of four were beeped and sat before us while we stood there looking confused and hungry. Eventually a suit wandered by, and just as she was in range, I said (innocently and to my mom, of course), "We were beeped like 10 minutes ago, and they said we'd be next, but 2 other parties have been seated before us... how odd..."

The suit turned around, asked our name, found our little lost paper, and promptly sat us at a really great table for 4. I don't know exactly what happened, but maybe we had the same confused hostess. ;)

Great reviews from a fellow NC'er!! :hippie:

Nothing against Durham, but I can't wait to move to Wilmington! I love the outerbanks, too. We've camped in Okracoke and at Oregon's Inlet. Not too many jobs up that way, though. Unless you're a fisherman or a Wright Brother. ;)

I'm glad you are enjoying my little review. Tigerkat rocks! She shared a fabulous-looking recipe with me too - Crawfish Monica. There's a link to it round about post #53.

TE's bluezoo is pretty amazing. Be sure to order the green beans and the lobster on your trip in June! :thumbsup2

North Cackalacky representin! :cool1:

Yeah, Boma at breakfast is a little nuts. Actually, I think Boma at any time is pretty nuts! It's just so good!

Congrats on your graduation, BTW! party:

* An aside (not an interesting aside, just a plain old aside): Petrifries is one of those little Disney witticisms that really keep us vacationers on our toes, sort of like Tangierine Café. See it’s funny cause they craftily supplant tangerine with Tangier. I naively attributed this pun to the fact that Tangier is in Morocco and the Tangierine Café is in the Morocco pavilion. Giggle, giggle, giggle. But how wrong I was to underestimate the power of Disney Imagineering. If you were a big dork like me and actually looked up tangerines on Wikipedia, you’d discover the following: “Historically, the name tangerine comes from Tangier, Morocco, the port from which the first tangerines were shipped to Europe. The adjective tangerine, from Tangier or Tanger, was first recorded as an English word in 1710.” Now that is one multivalent subtlety. In other words, like ogres, it has layers.

Upon closer inspection, the root word “Tanger” leads me to suspect that the astronauts’ drink of choice may be a major player here as well. Tang is orange, citrussy, and quite possibly the main component of the Tangierine Cocktail sold at the Tangierine Café. :scratchin Unfortunately, I looked it up on Wikipedia, and Morocco does not have a very prominent space program, so there goes that theory. :confused3 In case you were wondering, this digression does have a point, which is this: a WDW vacation is no excuse for mental flabbiness. Physical flabbiness, on the other hand, is a common side effect of eating large quantities of Petrifries.

Stay tuned for Day 2, Part 2 ~ Pizzafari & Narcoossee’s

In a quest to not do anything related to my Master's thesis (which is due next month :scared1: ) I started reading your report and I must say... the above digression makes me want to give you a big hug and invite you to every party my friends and I have ever. :rotfl: You would fit right in!

Great review ,please take us with you on your next trip I think you would be a great couple to have fun with:wizard:
