I preordered Epic mickey collectors edition from Disney shopping, with money transfered to my rewards expiring 12/2010 and now I've gotten an email saying it is back ordered. I e-mailed back to see if it was just an error becasue it was a pre-order and they replied it will not be in until 1/31/2010.

So do I hope they are wrong? If I cancel then I still have 35 dollars that are going to expire at the end of the year. And this is the only thing my DD has asked for from

It could very well be true. I would think the only way of probably getting it day one for sure is preordering at a Gamestop. Its VERY expensive for retailers to keep games in stock. There is minimal return on them and unless they have a lot of buying power such as Wal-mart/Target, the retailer has to eat the price if it doesn't sell. Even though Disney licenses the game, they do not have much power when it comes to the manufacturing.

I would cancel the preorder and just buy a gift card online at the disney store to use up your points.

I don't understand how its a 2 month backorder. The whole point of preordering is so there are enough copies!

I ordered Epic Mickey Collector edition from Disney (because I wanted to take advantage of the 20% offer) on 11/13/2010.

I received a follow-up e-mail from them stating that it was backordered until 12/15/2010. Hopefully, that will be okay, & I'll still get it by Christmas... since it's at the top of DS's wish list. Disney normally has really fast shipping.

Maybe I should call their customer service...

As an aside, I'm also waiting on American Girl Felicity's Holiday Gown which is backordered until, coincidentally enough, also 12/15/2010. Hopefully, we'll get that by Christmas too.

AND I'm looking everywhere for the turtle pillow pet. And teacup piggies. *sigh* Christmas & toys!

EDITED TO ADD: I just relooked at the email. Actually, my email says that my shipment of Epic Mickey has been delayed until 12/15/2010 which, I guess, is a little different than backordered until 12/15/2010. Just out of curiosity, what date did you order your copy?

This is the only item on her list. I think I will order it from Walmart and take it back if Disney does ship it before Christmas. It would be cheaper from Amazon but more of a pain to return. I also used the 20% off at Disney Shopping.

I think it was the 13th or the 14th. That is probably the same e-mail I recieved the first time.

I ordered on the 13th and got the DEc 15, email. Did they send you an umprompted second email, or was the January date in response to your inquiry?

It was a response to an inquiry. And that was recieved after I spoke with them by phone where they said it should arrive by christmas.

I think I am going to pre order from Walmart and return if the Disney ones ships. Just have to consider the 2 shipping cost to be worth it to assure DD has the one thing she asked for. It does make me wonder if the person paying the full 69.99 will get them shipped first.

My local Disney store will no longer do giftcards with Rewards points, so I ordered on Disneyland.com. No shipping or handling fees were applied.

Well this is getting more and more bizarre. Just had another call. They have over sold on the pre-orders this year and since I ordered on the 12th they think they will be shipped on the 30th. She will double check with distribution to see were I am on the list. Okay.

Hang up and not even a minute later someone else is calling from the e-mail department and tells me that the e-mail is in error and should be sent out the 30th. She knows nothing about the other call though she thinks it must be from the head of her area.

Do these people not talk.

Then I check my e-mail and they have sent me a 20 electronic gift card for my troubles. but I would feel much better if I knew is all set.

So odd..is this only for the Collector's Edition? I pre ordered the regular game and haven't gotten any emails at all about it.
