So I'm intrigued by the "trailers" I've seen for Epic Mickey, which comes out in November. I am not a "gamer" at all - I use the Wii Fit and that's about all. Does anyone out there have a better understanding of how difficult this game will be?

When I was younger I loved the "classic" video games - Mario Bros, things will a clear "goal" - stuff like Myst confused (and still confuses) the heck out of me. What will it be like?

I just watched a trailer for it. I think the main theme is that everything in the world of the game is a rejected or forgotten Disney idea. Like a closed down park ride, or a character that never quite made it into the movie, stuff like that. It looks as if Mickey might have a darker side in the game too, which i don't think i like.

My DS is impatiently awaiting the release of Epic Mickey! I've already reserved it for him at our local Gamestop.

My DS says that the game will have a medium level of difficulty overall but in the very beginning of the game, you can probably choose your own type of game play.

DS also told me that paint is involved (Mickey unintentionally paints a monster with a magic paintbrush). The monster is more or less the game's villain and it's up to Mickey to save the day. The more "epic" tasks Mickey performs, the nicer he becomes.

I'm a pretty big gamer and I cannot wait for this! Easily my most anticipated game this year. Warren Spector really knows his Disney history and I think that kind of love he shows that history is reflected in the game.

I was really looking forward to this game until they announced the changes they were making in it compared to the original announced concept of the game. I liked that you were going to be able to choice your own path with it. It left it open to replay thought it a few times and the path would be different every time. It you wanted to help, you could spend all your time helping but it you wanted to be a bit more selfish or just didn't wanna go something you could skip over someone and go down a darker path way. I thought that freedom was really interesting. But last I heard, they have taken out your option to go down the dark path and make it more of a uniformed line you have to travel. Not sure I am looking as forward to it now as I once was.

I mean, I'll still be buying it, but I'm not counting down the days as I once was in excitement.

DBF also wants the game from what i can understand:

Mickey gets pulled into a magic world run by Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and containing all the forgotten disney characters, who hate micky for being popular, mickey can either be nice and get everyone to like him and win that way or be nasty and kill all the baddies and win that way.

You can still chose your path, I believe, but they just got rid of the evil looking Mickey if you chose the bad path. It wasn't testing well.
I'm sooooo excited for this game. I love the idea of the land of rejected ideas and Mickey not necessarily being a good guy, as weird as that sounds. This is the only game I'm really excited about this year. :)

DS is hoping that Epic Mickey will be released before our post-Thanksgiving trip. He keeps reading the Epic Mickey article in his Game Informer magazine over and over again!

He's asked if we can have an "Epic Mickey Night" when we finally bring the game home. DS wants everyone to look on as he's playing (Or, everyone can take a turn playing). He's also asked if we can have Mickey Mouse-type food. I told him I'd see what I can do about baking a Mickey Mouse cake. We're all excited!
