My docotor just subscribed an epi pen for me. Not sure what i am allergic to yet (something in goldfish :confused3). Going to a theme park on Thursday how do you all store your epi-pens at room temperature when you are in 90 degree weather all day? I will have my son's bottles with in a cooler bag should i store the pen in there? Thanks for any ideas or suggestions

I just keep mine in an interior pocket my purse and don't let my purse bake in direct sunlight. My body shields it from most direct sunlight.

Your cooler might be a great idea though!

The cooler probably is not a good idea. Epi pens getting too cold is just as bad as them getting too hot.

I have always just carried mine in my purse or backpack....even where I live in 100+ degree weather. As long as it not in direct sunlight or left in a car it's fine

I would suggest going to www.coolerconcept.com and looking at the Frio Cold Packs. There are several people in this forum, myself included, who use them.

These are gel packs that are water activated. They will keep the internal temperature at insulin-safe levels for over 40 hours. As the water evaporates you can just soak it in water for a few minutes to reactivate it. They come in various sizes.

For example, I have a "double wallet". Depending on what I am doing it will hold my Byetta pen as well as either a syringe with insulin in it or two insulin vials. And I tend to do at least five air round trips a year and have never had any problems with TSA over it.

I just put DS's in whatever bag I am carrying. We are in and out of the heat all day long and it really is never in the direct sunlight.

I just carry DD12's in a pack and try to avoid direct sunlight for long periods of time.

I've carried epipens on me at all times from when they were invented (and prior to that, adrenaline and a syringe). I live in a tropical climate and I have never carried it in a cooler bag. I just carry it in my regular purse, whatever type I may be carrying. It's always been fine.
