I have just found out about this passbook recently (well atleast since my last trip in June 05) and I'm interested. I am an avid scrapbooker and would like to incorporate the pages into each "country's scrabook page" as an embellishment. Can someone tell me if this is possible (meaning...Do they stamp, sign or whatever on each page? Or will there be 2 countries on one page (front/back) Does this even make sense, cause it really doesn't sound like it as I'm typing it. LOL

I would rather have each country done on a separate page so I can tear it out and put each one on a different scrapbook page.

The passport book has a 2 page lo but they are back to back.. so unless you scan them on to cardstock you'll end of losing a page from the other countries.

Let's see.. in the pack we got our book and stamps that related to each country. While in the countries we got our stamp and they signed a little note.. either the kids' names written in that language or an interesting fact.
If you'd like I can scan a few of our pages in today for you.

I must say, I love the passport books.. WE are going to do them again!!!

That would be great....I would love to see them?

Is there a way for each country to be on a separate page though?

Can I make my own?

If you make your own they can definitely be on their own page..
I'll scan those in a moment... let me go get it!!

One idea have been batted around here in the past and that is to make tags to have the stamp put on for each country and possibly a little request from you, like hello or your name in that country's language! (boy, that was a run-on sentence, sorry!)

Here are what they look like..
They are back to back.

Those books look great! We have never done that with the kids before, but definitely on the next trip!.......................P

I have seen examples of other people on other sites (no clue on the memory now of which one) make tags and then have them stamp those. I have also seen them write simple things like Hello or Happy Birthday in their language, so they will definately do that.

I want to explore WS so much more then we have on our last few trips, but DH is utterly bored there and DS just goes stir crazy. Maybe next time we'll split up and they can go ride Test Track 800 times while I explore WS!!

Do you think it would work if I bought TWO passbooks and just had 1/2 of the countries in one book and the other half in the other book? I'd really like to have both of country's pages on one scrapbook page. KWIM?

I'm really trying to use these passbooks instead of making something of my own, but if I had to I would.

We just got back and this is what we did.

My DS is 6 and he created a journal for our trip. He wanted to go to each country but didn't know what to do there. So I brought cardstock with us and had a representative of each country sign the cardstock, write hello (or something similar) and put a stamp on it. Then my DS took a disposable camera that we brought with us and took 2 or 3 pictures of things in the pavilion that interested him. He also had to find out what the colors of the flag was in each country.

We put this all together with the results of my Toppers - n- Tags country swap and we finished it last night. It is at school right now, so I can't scan anything. :)

He is really happy with the way it turned out and he is still talking (of course it was on Sunday...) about taking the pictures. When we went through the countries he knew stuff like Japan had tin toys or Canada had the waterfall. I didn't know about the passport before we went. My kids had never been very interested in the countries before - they were too little.

Last year when I went I tool 12 inch strips to have them stamp on (making a border) it looks nice but the passport pages are on a higher level IMO.

I think I would scan the pages and print them out on acid free paper rather than cutting the passport apart. It's such a neat little book and (although it would be lumpy) would be cute in a pocket on a title page for World Showcase.

Just a thought.

Yes, that would work fine... :) But I would worry about the pages not being acid free.. unless of course you spray them w/ the archival safe mist.
