Epcot's newest attraction just turned 10!

Being a local, I think the fast pass plus system back fired a bit for how we use the park. We NEVER spend a full day in the park, most of the time not even a half day. We book our 3 fast passes for 9, 10, 11, and go home, or book them for 7, 8, 9 and then go home. Contrast that to days at Universal or Sea World, where we spend much more time, and even eat at the parks. Now I know this wasn't designed with us in mind as we are a small percentage of the customer base (until food and wine festival, when we are all there apparently). But still interesting to think back over the months and how much time I actually spend there. Last time my son (10) and I went to Hollywood Studios, I think we were in the park for 1 hour. Rode RNR and ToT, and left. We had a fast pass for Star Wars that he didnt want to wait around for. No theme park should ever be that short of a visit. Last time we went to Epcot he stayed home, as he didnt want to walk around World Showcase again, and the only ride he likes there is Test Track.

Adding more theaters to Soarin, another track to TSM, should really scare people as to the direction of the company. What's next for Magic Kingdom...Dueling Small Worlds and Pirates? I dont need more of stuff that I am already tired of. Again, they are only catering to the first time visitor, and international visitors, or people that rarely go. Thats not what Disney used to be. And I was able to ride SDMT 1 time in the past year, when I got a random fast pass. Every other trip, of which I would say there were 10+ to MK, it would have been an hour line. And I am sorry, that wasn't anywhere near my top rides at MK. So why bother. Its unfortunate thats the highlight of a billion dollar expansion.

This hits the nail squarely on the head for me.

I think this is one of the reasons we won't be heading back to WDW. We had a hard time picking rides for FP+. Not because there were so many great options but because nothing really seemed worthy of a ride reservation.

I think that they are both glorified shopping malls and I love shopping malls! I just don't know if I'm eager to spend over $100 a person for the right to shop so I might as well go to the free one.

I do miss the stores in China and Japan though...
