I will be at WDW during 10/18-25/2003. I beileve that Epcot's Food and Wine Festival will be taking place then. Can anyone tell about it? I have never been there during this time.

Just wanted to know if it was worth it to stop by. I will be on a family trip (5 families and w/ children). My child will be 9 months and the other will be 2 1/2yrs, 4yrs and 6 1/2 yrs. There will also be grandparents. Is this sometime we may enjoy? I realize this not a child event. Wondering if it is a nice change of pace for the adults. Some do enjoy wine.

Should we try it?
What exactly is it?
Any dates and details for this year?
Do you need to purchase ahead of time?

Thank you for your assistance.

We really like the food & wine festival.

We did it the past 2 years, but will unfortunately miss it this year.
Also, last year did it with a large crowd (9 of us).

For us it becomes a night to not do a planned dinner, but really walk around the world showcase and sample different foods and wines from around the world.

to your questions:
1) YES
2) It is basically a series of additional "kiosks/tents" set up all over the world showcase that will have a sample or 2 of that countries foods and wines. Additionally, they have wine tasting classes and formal dinner/wine tasting "parties".
3) Check over on wdwig.com for info or check with guest services.
4) Nope, just an Epcot admission.

Also, now that Tapestry of Dreams has ended I suspect that it will be MUCH easier to walk around to the different kiosks/tents without the "street closures" that typically took place during the parade. Walking around at the Food & Wine Festival, eating and drinking different things is a GREAT prelude to Illuminations. Enjoy!

The neat thing about the Food and Wine festival is that you can participate in the different things they have setup, try the wines and foods while the kids do the Kidcot stations. gives the adults time to do things and the kids have fun too.

You'll have a blast! We still have signed bottles from a Wine maker that I met on a business trip and met up with in Epcot. It's an experience to remember.

Hi!

I loved the F&W Festival. We went last year for the first time and we liked it so much we are going back this year. Here is a link to a great web site that will give you all kinds of info:

You don't need to purchase anything ahead of time unless you want one of the special dinners or seminars. Otherwise you just need your regular park pass to get into Epcot. It's set up around World Showcase with booths. They sell different sample sizes of food. It's between $1 and $4. The servings are small. We usually still split them between 2 people so we could still try more. We tried alot last year.

A stand-out from last year was the Polenta... yum. Though everyone has different tastes... what one may like, others may not. But it's fun trying!

If you like food - it's a not to be missed attraction! So many dishes, so many wines, so little time . . . The only advice I have is be prepared to gain a few! (Or diet before you get there!!) Enjoy!

My whole family loved the F&WF...the kids too! Okay, they don't do the "Wine" portion but the definitely enjoy the "Food" portion. In fact, we took our kids to the F&WF for the first time when they were 4 & 7. The rule was that they had to try one bite of each thing we bought but they never had to take a second bite of anything they didn't like. There was only one thing that they didn't like (same thing for both of them...a very soggy veggie item from Japan) and ever since then they are very adventurous eaters.

For us the F&WF is a not-to-be-missed event!
