Sometimes exploring the pavilions can get alittle dull for those young children and adults as well. What attracts you as an adult and maybe what attracts your children to Epcot?

Got any Epcot tips? One that I read on this board was that in the China Pavilion in the TEMPLE if you go to the CENTER you can actually hear yourself talk. I mean hear your own voice the way others do b/c the room is perfectly shaped I think was the reason. VERY NEAT and something I have never seen again on these boards.

Just trying to stir the pot alittle and get some old stuff or new stuff on the boards to keep us entertained til our next trip to the WORLD!

The water fountains are always fun at Epcot, as are the twinkling lights in walkway at night. Something kids will enjoy, along with some (me!) adults!

When my kids were younger they always enjoyed making the masks in the different countries in WS. Another idea is to have them take their autograph books and have CM from each country sign them.

Talk to the CMs in each country, they are natives that are spending time in our country. They are very friendly and willing to speak of their homes. Kids like listening to the foreign acccents...and seeing a smiling face.

We bought the passports in Epcot, and my kids(4 & 8) loved having them stamped in each country. The CM also write a note in them in their native language. I kept thinking Epcot was going to be too educational, and almost didn't go, but walking around World Showcase was one of their favorite memories of WDW

Be sure to see the lady in Japan that does the candy sculpting. Her name is Miyuki and she is amazing. She takes little balls of rice candy and makes all kinds of animals. She learned this art from her grandfather in Japan. If she picks you in the audience she will make you an animal for free. There are lots of acts in WS, but my favorite is the band called Off Kilter(cute men in kilts-what could be better).

For me, one of the best things about Epcot is getting to try the cuisine from so many different countries.

I'm really not trying to be snarky, but how can something be "too educational"?? Is there shame in learning something new?

We love the countries of Epcot.. there's so many fascinating things to do and see!

I don't think they meant "shame in learning". They probably meant that they thought that educational might not be that much FUN for small children.

Disney has done an amazing job of making learning fun!!!

I loved Epcot!

World Showcase was awesome!

We had more fun exploring all the walkways and
I also did the pass port. My kids - who are ages
10 and 17 actually got into helping me with the pass port.

We loved the shopping in all the countries!

Trying all the foods and the entertainment is awesome!

My oldest son loved riding on a segway!
The younger son loves test track!

EPCOT has always been my kid's favorite park. It has changed through the years, but my guys never tire of it. They love visiting the counties and talking to the CMs from around the world. Most of all they've learned about other cultures and how to communicate with people from around the globe.

There is no boring experience at EPCOT, just boring people. You can make it fun by having fun yourself. Talk to them about what they're seeing and interact with them. Show them learning about other cultures can be fun and interesting. Make the investment in them and it will come back to you tenfold. Don't assume that they won't find it interesting, because then they won't.

Of course that's what I meant. When we planned our trip (our very first for all) we just imagined Disney as a place for great rides. It wound up being that and so much more.

thanks for all the great ideas I have been to Epcot so many times just trying to see what I am missing....but trust me I LOVE EPCOT.....

My favorite way to do Epcot is without kids...but we do have a ball with DGD 2.5. She is a little young for the kidcot stations but it looks like the kids who are doing it are having a ball.

Go online and create a "Treasure Hunt" around Epcot for your kids. You can include cultural items from several countries, hidden Mickey's, character shops, and include "prizes" along the way, like a small toy, or a snack on the treasure hunt. Take time to let them draw pictures in the kid's stations of their hunt finds.

We do this at Art Museums (a tip we go from the High in Atlanta) and my kids LOVE going to art museums. Even my 3 1/2 year old can identify major artists and my 7 year old asked if going to Disney was "wasting' our money for Monet's garden trip, LOL .

I guess "too educational" in our family isn't a term we'd use. Education is FUN if done with planning and enthusiasm.

LOVE the creativity of the folks on these boards. I have lots of ideas for when my DD is older...she is only going to be 10 months when we go. I am really looking for adult activities and ideas to keep it exciting. I am bringing 3 NON DISNEY FREAKS with me and want so badly to show them the magic and wonder of Disney....and Epcot is one park I am struggling with even though I LOVE IT. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Fun things to do is send those silly email post cards...there is a station innovations, at the figment ride and the end of mission space...You can send it to three places at once...One for us...one for mom and one for my brother...lol...they love the silly things we do on the videos...kids will need some help but its a blast to do and to look at once we get home...

I agree. It is such a facinating experience, even for the youngest child.

We purchased Epcot "passports" for the kids and at each "KidCot" station it would be validated with a stamp and the cast member (who is from the country they are working in) would write something to each child in their native language and then translate it to them. My children loved it and it made World Showcase one of their favorite things @WDW. It still is, too. The passports were purchased at a gift shop just as you enter WS and it also had stickers for each country that the kids put in their passports on the drive home. Have a wonderful trip!
