Epcot without Soarin...will anyone bother

This winter we only have 3 days at WDW before our cruise so I had to choose between DHS or EPCOT or get hoppers. Because of Soarin' closing AND the fact that many attractions will close soon at DHS (+ the SW fireworks) we decided to skip EPCOT this time and only do AK (must for my girls), MK and DHS in this order. A little sad because I love EPCOT but will go back next time.

We found Epcot to be a short half day park for us this trip. Soarin' is down, Innoventions West was completely under refurb except for having playstations for games.

I sure hope Epcot gets the next big refurb/expansion announcement in a few years, it needs it badly. So much untapped potential.

We are skipping this year. Going to Animal Kingdom this year instead.

I'm amused by the premise of the original post. Some people apparently think that all it takes is a single attraction to bring people into a park. Clearly that's not the case.

Not the OP, but did you read the article? Something was keeping the crowds down at EP last week. I'm curious to see if the trends continue this week.

Love Epcot for the World Showcase and Illuminations! Yes I will be going back with or without soarin. I will be disappointed I can't take my kids on it as they were too young the last time. And I have to agree with some comments about , hoping Disney starts to put some money into future world again. 24 days and counting!pixiedust:

Exactly. Soarin' hasn't been there all that long, in the grand scheme of things...

There's a lot more gone over time than just Soarin'. Soarin' is just another something that isn't there, at least that's how I see it.

People make valid arguments about World Showcase being worth it. I still see Future World as a rather pathetic version of what once was a great park area. But to each their own.

For us EPCOT is a must do, with or without Soarin'....but I haven't been to Disney in six years, and it's unlikely we'll be back anytime soon after this trip. If we were able to swing yearly visits (and I would if I could) we would probably bypass Future World all together and just head straight for the World Showcase.

Yes I will still bother. Epcot is still one of favorite parks.
It's not insanely crowded like the Magic Kingdom and it's not full of construction like DHS or AK. In fact I will be investing in an after 4 Epcot pass because it's the one park I do miss

There's is still much for me to enjoy other than Soarin.

Epcot is our favorite park. Of course we will miss Soarin on this trip but it's just a small part of Epcots draw for us.

Meh. Soarin' is overrated, in my humble opinion. If I never ride it ever again I'd be ok with that, it doesn't even make my top 20 of Epcot rides and attractions. We are, however, huge Frozen fans--ok, ok, my daughter and I are the huge fans, my husband and son not so much. We can't wait to see the new A & E attraction. Soarin' is not now, nor has it ever been, the attraction that draws us to Epcot.

Let's see. EPCOT opened in 1982, Soarin' in 2001,what did people do before then? EPCOT isn't Soarin' want more than MK is the mountains or DHS Tower of Terror or AK is Expedition Everest. There is so much more to do and enjoy. I will always bother.

I will always bother with EPCOT. I love it. The last time we went to WDW, in 2011, we were in Epcot everyday. (We always park hop.) My youngest daughter was 5 at the time and begged to go to Future World every day. My family likes to graze our way through World Showcase, also. I think I've only ridden Soarin' once since it's opened. I'll give it another try when the new film is ready.

We did Epcot the day of the 1/2 Marathon a week or two ago. Had a breakfast resi at the Garden Grill...............it was very quiet in that building.

Epcot is so much more than the rides, at least from my point of view. While my wife and I enjoy Soar'in...........there's been visits we never got the chance to ride...............still spent a full day/night at Epcot.
