Epcot without Soarin...will anyone bother

I noticed on the Touring Plans blog a side comment that some think without Soarin all the "attractions" (I'm using that word loosely) in Future World of Epcot will see a decline. I have noted on these boards my lack of interest in Epcot (from year 1 btw), so I don't think I'm in any position to assess this, but I am curious. Do you think without Soarin' that Future World will become a ghost town? Or at best, a brief stop on the way to the World Showcase?

I really don't know what goes through people's minds sometimes. I mean, how oblivious do you have to be, to ignore all that Epcot has to offer? I mean have people really forgotten how to enjoy the little things, or does it always have to be bigger and better?

There is so much more to Epcot than just Soarin.

Loved EPCOT before Soarin, was meh about Soarin, still love EPCOT.

I still love Epcot and it is still my favorite park so I will still be hitting Epcot even without Soarin'. As of right now my wife and I have something to do in Florida in October and we may spend one day on property. If we do Epcot will be where we spend it.

I will definitely spend less time there, if any, our trip in Feb. Soarin' is my favorite thing to do in Future World. I do enjoy the Land, but may not go just for that.

We went to Epcot today and it was almost empty, it was an amazing comparison to when we went in both early December (low season) and Christmas (high season). We were there for rope drop, got there at 8:35am, in first car on test track at 9. Had a great morning, doing everything with 5 minute wait. Hit world showcase around 11, it was so nice, virtually no crowd anywhere.

BTW, With Soarin down, seasons is not open for breakfast.

We are planning to postpone our entire trip in large part because Soarin' (my favorite ride) and BTMRR (ODS's favorite ride) are both closed when we would normally go. But if we had been there we wouldn't have skipped over Epcot or anything. There's still a lot to do but since we live far away and go once a year or less we want to be able to do our favorites.

I am always surprised at the ammount of people who only ride one ride at any of the parks. Seriously, what do they do the rest of the time? Love Soarin' but before FP+, many trips we just didn't get it worked in. TT, MS, SE, LwL, EUoE, the Seas, and all of world showcase keep us busy for 2 or 3 days. Will be glad when it returns, but love Epcot either way.

Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Living With the Land, Living Seas, Club Cool, the fountain show, (sometimes Ellen, not brave enough for Mission Space) make it a morning for us at EPCOT, even without Soarin'. World Showcase is saved for evenings :) as we parkhop every day.

My favorite things to ride at Epcot are Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, and the Gran Fiesta boat ride in Mexico. So, yes. I will still bother. I remember going to Epcot when it was the "new place" (Epcot Center, it was called then I think), and I just thought it was the coolest! Looking forward to seeing it in all its Flower and Garden glory!

Going by that logic you'd think there'd be noone in Epcot before '05. There are quite a few other good attractions in Future World, we enjoy a lot of them every time: Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Innoventions/Sum of all Thrills, Aquariums in the Seas, Living With The Land, The Circle Of Life, Journey Into Imagination with Figment

We only hit Soarin' about every second time we go. It's fun but we spent a lot of time in Epcot long before Soarin' and, IMO, it's only a very small part of Epcot.

Add us to the "We WILL bother" list! 10 days and counting, and plan on activating our gold AP's at the IG on arrival night. Even living close to DL and having Soarin' available at many many opportunities, we haven't ridden it in over 2 years. I think the new update will be a refreshing experience and is well worth the wait during the downtime. Can't wait to see the new version!

We love epcot even without soarin we will be there and enjoying all of epcot
The only problem is I have no one this trip to trick into drinking beverly

EPCOT isn't my favorite park, but there is more to do especially with going to Flower and Garden. I will probably do my FP+ in Future world early and then be ready for World Showcase at 11 AM.

Our last trip was while Test Track was down for refurbish. There were still significant enough crowds, and Soarin had wait times regularly of 2 hours + (this was in October over Columbus weekend). There may be a slight dip, but since Soarin is on par with Test Track for popularity, I think it will still be relatively busy in Future World.

I like World Showcase but to me Future World is dull and has been for a while. We are done with it in half a day and then we're onto other things.

World Showcase isn't enough for us to waste a day and we don't buy hoppers. We're done with Epcot for now.
