Epcot with a 6 year old 1/2 day park?

You can easily do all the activities in Future World in that time, and get over to Mexico and Norway for those two rides. Then judge your time and interest in seeing the rest of World Showcase.

My son loves it. Figment, living the land, soarin, Nemo, spaceship earth, frozen, three amigos, test track. He could do over and over and over.

To only a few hours in Epcot would have just frustrated our grandchildren, and us, too. Yet, I have known people who have done it, and when I asked how they liked our particular favourites, their responses were along the line of “What? I didn’t know that was there!”

While it is certainly possible to cover the required ground to hit only the ride-type attractions, all the beautiful details will be a blur. Rather than giving yourself an unsatisfying experience, consider spending your time in another park, repeating some favourite attractions. Save Epcot until you can savour it!

Our grandsons loved this park from their first visit at 3 &4 yrs, when we wondered of we would ever get out of the Living Seas Pavillion! Now, they are teenagers who keenly appreciate the festival foods, but still want to see every attraction and show.

My 5 year old (4 on our last trip) loves Epcot. She liked Frozen spaceship earth 3 amigos, and even Soarin (though it did scare her a bit at first) There are tons of characters here with fairly short wait times to meet, shows to watch and places to explore. Epcot is our favorite park. The days there never feel as hectic as the other parks. Not everyone would agree, but for us, it's a two day park at the very least.

I think I’m repeating what has been said by others, but here goes. If you are pressed for time and looking to cut back, you could certainly get the headliners done in a few hours and have fun. But my kids have all loved Epcot at that age and we typically do two full days minimum -and still don’t do/see all we’d like to.
The countries all have a very authentic feel and fun features. Canada has a large waterfall kids often like seeing, but you have to walk back a bit into the Canada area. If you are just doing a quick lap past all the countries, you won’t even know it’s there! They also all have shopping and it’s really fun to try on Moroccan hats and play with Chinese toys. We could honestly spend at least two days just in world showcase.
As far as the aquarium, my kids at that age could have easily spent an hour or two there. However we don’t live near a good aquarium. If you have one at home, the Epcot one isn’t particularly special I don’t think. It’s a large park with a lot to see and do beside major rides.

When my son was 4, we did Epcot in half a day. We had tickets to MVMCP that evening, so I wanted to be back in the room by no later than 3 to be into MK as early as we were able.

We are not “rope drop” people, so we got to Epcot about an hour or two after they opened. We rode SE, Nemo, Figment, Frozen, and Gran Fiesta. We met lots of characters and played in the play areas/splash pad. We didn’t explore many countries, but did walk the perimeter of World Showcase. The majority of our time was spent in lines for character meets, which isn’t even a concern right now.

We had no problem doing everything that we wanted to do in half a day, especially at that age. It was easy to just pass by the countries because he wasn’t interested. However, when he was 6 - Epcot became his favorite part and he could have spent days exploring the different countries!

We always have hoppers and Epcot has often been a half day park for us -- we either spend it mostly in FW or mostly in the countries depending on which entrance we use. Yes, some people love it but if you have only half a day for it that's fine. You can do all of FW in half a day, and that's where you'll find most of the attractions your 6 y o will like. The last time we were there, some still closed early so that would be something to be careful of if it hasn't changed ie. you don't want to put off an attraction til later only to find out it's closed when you get to it.

You won't have much time to do WS except for walking past the countries and it is a lot of walking to do the entire park. So other than just looking at them from across the lagoon, you may want to skip them completely. The best parts of the countries are not what you see from the path and to do them right requires another half day...otherwise it's just a lot of walking and you'll be more tired at the end of the day. My family would prefer to do Mission Space or Test Trak twice than to walk all the way to Frozen, so we just aim for having a good time. We don't criss cross the park to do rides and we don't usually go out of our way to get to a specific restaurant or snack.

There are two options with the passport. One is a paper cutout of a character on a stick and they get stamped at each country or you can actually by a passport looing book that has the official stamps of each county. It also comes with a large button pin. The kids can interact with each cast member. They'll say hello in their languages or relate traditions. My boys loved this experience and it's a great souvenir. IMHO, there is enough for a young child to enjoy both sides of Epcot.

We started going to WDW when my daughter was 8. At that time she really needed the mid afternoon break because we were going to one park early and staying at another park late. But it is so nice just to go to the pool for the afternoon that we kept that kind of schedule as she got older. It certainly makes it easier on your feet!
