Epcot Wine and Food Festival

Friends are planning a trip in Oct 2005 and wanted me to ask if the Food and Wine festival greatly increases the crowds for this time of year. They are staying at the Boardwalk Villas and are concerned that the Epcot resorts will be overcrowded.


What should I tell them. they want to know if they should reschedule? Anyone just back please let me know.

Yes it does increase the crowds at the park. Any Epcot resort is going to be very busy.

I agree with safetymom. We have been a twice during this time of year (and will go again in a few weeks)--it's much harder to get Boardwalk/EPCOT area rooms. On the other hand, the crowds who are there will enjoy something special at EPCOT.

Crowds are bad on the weekend, but not through the week. We were there on Thursday and there was hardly anyone there. Went back on Saturday and it was mobbed!

We were there two Wednesdays ago and the crowds in Epcot were light. We never really waited in any long lines for anything. Even Illuminations was manageable.

I was there this Saturday and it was crowded, but not as bad as the in the summer. The lines at the booths were really not long and we were able to sample a variety of food and beverages with hardly any wait.

I was there Oct. 8-11. It was really packed but it was also Columbus Day weekend. We still had a great time though. The lines were really long at most of the booths so we didn't get to sample much. If I go next year I will know not to go that weekend!

I would just avoid Epcot on the weekends and it shouldn't be a problem. The Food and Wine Fest is so much fun. I would love to do it again.

How about Sundays? Do you think the crowd levels are the same on Sunday as Saturday?
