OK, is EPCOT a half-day park? What is the best way to tour EPCOT and stay all day without getting really bored?

Oh. So the best thing is to do is eat, go to the shops and meet the people that work there to discuss their countries. Is that right?

I think so. I mean TT and Soarin' are the most thrill-ish rides (Mission Space is ok too), but there's also a few other rides in FW too. That said, I personally prefer slowing enjoying the countries and all they have to offer in WS. That's my favorite part of EPCOT. I especially like WS in the late afternoon/early evening + dinner at one of the countries (Le Cellier, San Angel, either option in France, Biergarten, Via Napoli...so many more too) followed by watching Illuminations. EPCOT is by no means boring.

We went when my twins were 5, planned one day in each park plus a MNSSHP then had 2 days left unplanned (this was the old paper FP days) when we could decide as we went along what park we wanted to go to. The children chose to go to Epcot again the day after already spending the day there. We filled 2 days quite easily (mid October when it was not very busy). It really is soo hard to make decisions like this because everyone enjoys different aspects of each park. For some a certain park is a multiple day event and for others they may only enjoy a half day. Ultimately a decision only you will be able to make. I was a little surprised they chose Epcot but we also had two MK days already and they requested a third there too.

No not a half day! Other than the rides there is entertainment in the countries as well. My son likes the drummers in Japan. There's acrobats in China ect. of course the America pavilion. Also characters can be found in the countries too. The food is also yummy. I find we have a few dinners in Epcot during our trip. Lot's to do.

Whether you get bored really depends on the individual and what they enjoy to do. Epcot is my most favorite park and surprisingly, my kids have always loved going there. I do know other families whose children do not like Epcot and so it really depends on the individual (whether adult or kid). Be sure to ride Soarin' - that is enjoyable for everyone (except if there is a fear of heights). Have a good time.

We can do the rides portion of EPCOT in a half day but we always return to tour the countries, sample the food & drink, and just experience the World Showcase. This past trip we decided to stay an extra day at the last minute and we chose EPCOT as our extra park for the day. We love walking in off the Boardwalk - so relaxing.

I have boys---12 and and 14--and it's like pulling teeth getting them to spend a full day at Epcot. They like a lot of the rides in FW but have little patience for World Showcase. As others have mentioned, it's mainly eating, drinking, and shopping. They can't drink, hate shopping, and eating will only occupy them for so long in the August heat. We tried it last year and they were good sports about going in all the shops, but it definitely wasn't their thing. Also, a lot of the shows seem more like history class at school to them --last thing teen boys want in the summer!

When they were little, they did like the Kidcot stations and (at that time) Kim Possible. And they'll probably love it when they're old enough to drink around the world. But this in between stage seems tough in World Showcase.

So for us, it could actually be a half-day park. But I know that's not a very popular opinion around here!

Not for us!!!! It is our favorite park. But if you are really a thrill ride junkie, you will be disappointed and may enjoy a day at USO more. On a week trip we spend 2 full days and 4 or 5 evenings in Epcot. We love to just stroll and enjoy the incredible detail that is WS/
Good Luck

It would be hard to see and do everything at Epcot in a 1/2 day. I would get a early FP+ for Soarin. Then fill in your other FPs with Mission Space and Spaceship Earth. Ride Test Track first thing when you enter. Then, use your Soarin pass and hit Living with the Land and Figment while you are over there. Then, go have a great lunch. Afterwards, ride Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, and Ellen's Energy Adventure. Then, tour the countries. End it with another great meal in the countries and watch Illuminations. That sound like a full day to me.

EPCOT is a park where we usually only spend a few hours at a time (usually for a scheduled ADR and then we schedule rides/shows around that). We do love the shows/movies in world showcase - Canada, American Adventure, France, China.

We did a day and half at Epcot and my oldest was mad we didn't get to do everything. My younger two were less impressed, but they were into visiting the characters over in WS. (My youngest became a Duffy nut. I don't even know, man.)

Baptist's touring plan is spot-on, IMO.

And Captain EO! Don't leave out Captain EO! Why doesn't Captain EO ever get any love? It's always the shortest line in the park!

All this is not enough for you? Test Track, Soarin', Mission Space, Spaceship Earth, Sum of all Thrills, Livin' with the Land, Figment, meet Mickey & the Gang, trying free soda from around the world? Not to mention Three Caballeros, watching street performers from around the world, drinking and tasting your way around the world, checking out Canada's garden and Germany's train, riding the ferry across the lake, browsing the World Showcase shops, doing Agent P missions, watching the sit-down movies in America and France, eating a fantastic dinner at a great table service restaurant, watching Illuminations, strolling slow behind the crowds as you leave the park and stopping to see the cool lit-up sidewalks?

We have spent entire days at Epcot from Rope Drop to Close. And loved every minute of it.

Hollywood Studios on the other hand...

For many people Epcot would be considered a multi day park, especially true during the F&W and F&G festivals. You could spend most of a day seeing the events of the festivals, eating and drinking at the festival booths and seeing the concerts. As far as rides, yes, the park is in serious need of new rides and attractions, especially in Future World,Ellen's Energy Adventure and the Imagination pavilions need to be turned into new attractions.

EPCOT IS A 'long day' park. If you actually get in all the rides and attractions in the first half, World Showcase can easily take you the rest of the day to walk through.

Ohyes, Epcot is at least two days. My family loves it, and we spend a good deal of time there. I think that the WS is a wonderful place to explore, and for children, there are activities thoughout.

You know I never thought about going over to Board walk from Epcot. For some reason my head was stuck that is how you get to the resort and it never even dawned on me to go to boardwalk and then come back through Epcot to do a few other things before heading to the bus.

I agree I can easily fill my day at Epcot. Heck if you don't have a FP+ for things like Soarin you can lose a good hour+ to just get on that. And ya not all the rides are thrill rides but my leisurely strolling along doesn't get me on everything or even walking through all the countries in a half day.

My husband was actually disappointed when I suggested we take a long weekend and probably not go into the parks but check out other things like the other resorts and so on. His first comment was "No Epcot?". I laughed.

It really is an interest thing. If you have a hopper pass, go for the half day and scoot into another, but I definitely can see people filling the whole day. If you have kids, check out that Agent scavenger hunt. That looked really fun to do with the kids. And real little kids they have a Kidcot or something like that. The kids collect stamps. There is even a world passport book you can get and get stamped in all the countries, or make up one before you leave and the kids can have fun meeting people in all the countries.
