Hi Everyone!

I am new to the board, and found all the information on here soo helpful while I am planning our upcoming October 2011 wedding.

We were planning a more "traditional" wedding but found out it was just not our thing! So we are now doing Disney.... a complete 360!

We would like to get married in Epcot, in particular Germany. Anyone on here get married there? I can't seem to find anything.

Also, since it will be at 9:00 what time would the reception start? I want to do one right after but afraid it will be too early to have alot of fun dancing and what not. How long does a brunch/lunch reception last??

Also, I lovestruc the Living Seas, anyone get married there and have an early reception like me?

Thanks in advance for the information!!

My DH and were married in November 2008. Our ceremony was at 9:00 and was over by 9:30. It was held in epcot in Italy. Our 50 guests were brought by our private bus to Atlantic Dance Hall and ere there by 10:00. Our prereception was from 10:00 to 11:00 in the upstairs of ADH. We had champaign punch, coffee, tea and assorted muffins and pastries. We stayed in epcot tlll around 10:30 for additional pictures. At 11:00 our guests were taken to the main floor of ADH and our bridal party and then my DH and I were introduced into the reception.

We had a buffet brunch menu then dancing, Mickey and Minnie, cake cutting then alot more dancing. Our reception was from 11:00 to 3:00. By 3:30 our private bus took everyone back to their resorts. They rested, used the pool and just hung out. By 7:45 everyone was back in epcot for our dessert party.

Yes, the ceremony was early but we really wanted epcot and everyon was up dancing at the reception like it was a Saturday night. Having the break was great and it was so nice to see everyone later that night.

Please let me know if you would like any more info.

Thanks for getting back to me!

Do you know if your guests ( I guess depending on the size) could stay with you for a bit and take some pictures with you?

Where did you take your pictures after the ceremony?

Germany is a great idea! We were married this past October in EPCOT/Canada. Our ceremony started at 0930 and we stayed up there for the cake cuttingdrinks and photos until 1115 when we were escorted into Le Cellier for our after wedding lunch. The timing was perfect.
Perhaps you can do something like that-have the ceremony and cake cutting then lunch with your guests in EPCOT. The Germany restuarant would be fun.
We found that our Planner and all Disney Staff were extremely helpful and willing to help make our day work perfectly.

Good luck!:cool1:

Oh Interesting! You must have great pictures cutting the cake with Epcot as the back drop. Your guests were able top stay with you and take some pictures I assume?

Thanks for the helpful information! I like that idea, so that by the time we arrived at the reception it was closer to lunch and people could enjoy a cocktail

Thanks!!!

Our guests stayed with us after our ceremony in Morocco so we could get pictures with all of them, and then we took a Friendship boat to the reception at the Attic together. As a guest, I've never liked waiting for the bride and groom to finish their portraits after the ceremony so I could finally get to eat, so I wanted us all to stay together the whole time! :goodvibes

Thanks for the input- Me too! I want it to be a party, and everyone having fun, not sitting around waiting for me- We don't really want anything traditional so why not cut your cake in Epcot in the morning lol

Ours turned out exactly that way-a great, wonderful party! We got alot of fun, candid photos.

You'll have a great time!

We could be wedding twins!! I'm getting married in Epcot/Germany and then a brunch reception at the Living Seas!

You're right there aren't many people that get married in Germany so there are many pics. When we went down for our planning session they only had pictures of one ceremony there to show us, but it didn't matter. We know we really love that courtyard and it will be great for the ceremony.

Our pre-reception is 10-11 and then reception 11-3. We'll be having a DJ and want lots of dancing. The buses will take everyone back to their resorts for a little break. Then we're planning on heading back to Epcot to drink around the world with everyone! A dessert party wasn't in the budget so this is the next best thing we could think of and watch Illuminations. Actually everyone is talking more about drinking around the world then the actual wedding...haha :rotfl2:

We're happy with the brunch reception since it's a lower minimum and brunch food is delicious. We're having crepes, omelets, chicken, mickey waffles, pasta and assorted pastries. We are still going to have an open bar and want it to be a party. I think once we're inside we won't even notice what time it is. My planning journal is linked in my signature.

Hope this works. This is my favorite Epcot Germany picture. It was taken a few years ago during the F&G Festival.

Thanks everyone for the great information!

I had some more questions...

1. I really want an aisle runner with petals on the side as a border-I have seen this at other disney ceremony locations, but not in Epcot. Is there a rule against that?

2. Also, I wanted some type of arch to stand under/in in front of... do you know if that is allowed

3. last but not least, since its an ealy morningh wedding I wanted to provide my guests with a hot drink cart while they are waiting for me to arrive- nothing crazy just coffee and maybe mini muffins or something- I want to get these cup holders with our names on them...

Thoughts?

As you can see from my picture, I just had a small amount of petals for our aisle. I had wanted them all over, not just the border, but I said I only wanted $50.00 worth of petals and that is what I got. If I had to do it again I probably would have gone with $100.00 worth. I am sure you can get a runner if you want one. My aisle was not straight so I don't know how it would have worked.

I am sure they have an arch you can stand under. I am pretty sure that was on my price list. I don't remember the price though.

As far as having hot drinks at the ceremony, I am not sure if they can provide this . There is a table set up with water and glasses that should be included in the ceremony location package. We had coffee and tea at our prereception (from 10 to 11) along with muffins, pastries and fruit. We had to pay extra for this as the coffee and tea that is included in ou brunch package was for after our brunch with the cake.
