Epcot Touring Plan confusion

I'm completely confused about the best strategy to use when touring Epcot & scheduling Fastpasses. I've already searched for and read a bunch of other Dis posts on the topic--and honestly--I think this has just added to my confusion. Background, we always go the last week in March. This year, it's not near Easter, so 7-8ish, not 9-10ish.

In the past we've booked a PPO breakfast at Garden Grill to first in line for Soarin, had time to do Living in the Land, and hit TT next using the single-rider line (usually about 10-15 minutes). Saved our FP for FEA. Not doing PPOs this year, but will be there at ropedrop.

All the advice I see on here says to use our FP+ for TT because this ride sometimes doesn't open on time and tends to break down a lot, but that sounds like it will involve hitting FEA at opening and then backtracking all morning before sprinting to our noon lunch ADR at Via Napoli. Is this really the best plan?

Touring Plan has crazy ideas and none of them seem to include the single-rider line of TT as an option. They have recommended Soarin and Spaceship Earth :scared:

Thanks for any advice from anyone who has actually started with FEA at ropedrop not coming from a PPO.

if you can use the single rider line for TT, it's fine to FP FEA.

I agree with PP. If you can use single rider at TT, then you can do that at any time (which is what you would be doing if you have a FP and it happens to not be functioning during your FP time). Use your FP+ for FEA and schedule it so you're done just in time to get to lunch.

Thanks! We’re two adults and our almost 14 year old DS so single rider works great for our family.

Thanks for confirming that I wasn’t crazy—even though this was going against the other advice I was seeing.

We normally rope drop Soarin, fastpass Testrack and walk back to Soarin for another ride. It's not that crowded that early in the day and it's a short wait.

We got a day of fastpass for Soarin today. It took a few min of refreshing and splitting our group of 4 into two groups of 2 but we got it. Never saw a FEA pop up.

I've read to FP TT, RD FEA and then walk over to Soarin. There might be a small wait at Soarin, but nothing in comparison to what FEA would be if we did Soarin first.
