Epcot, to reserve or not reserve?

My sister and I are taking a weekend girls trip to Florida, Feb.11-13 staying at the dark side, AKA Universal, because we are both big HP fans. Arriving Friday at 2pm, if our flight is on time, I though an evening at Epcot grazing the art festival booths and fireworks would be nice. But I have been holding off on buying tickets snd making a park rezzie, because if our flights get delayed by any substantial amount, that’s close to $300 down the drain on park tickets, as we will be at the wizarding world all day Saturday and leaving early afternoon Sunday (too early to get from our hotel at Universal to Epcot and back).

I am thinking of chancing it and waiting until we arrive to buy park tix and make reservations. Have been watching park pass calendar and it is still “green,” and epcot does not seem like a park where I need to have Genie+ at 7am particularly if our focus is the festival. Am I missing something? The planner in my is squirming at the thought of arriving without a reservation.

Agree with you- I would wait and buy tickets once you know you can go.
For the planner side of you, go ahead and make plans for if you can get to EP, then make alternative plans for if you cannot. There is always DS or CW if EP is not in the cards.
Have a fun sisters weekend!

Thanks, I was second guessing myself there so glad at least one person thinks I’m not crazy to try to buy a ticket day of. Like your idea of booking a backup dinner reservation.

I would do the same. Flight delays and cancelations are way too common these days.

Thanks, agree it is worrying. I wish I could move my flight earlier but am already on the morning flight due to flying east so I “lose” hours. Miss being on the east coast!

EP on a Fri night? Yikes. People get wasted and crazy on weekend nights at EP… I’d skip it, do a nice dinner in downtown Universal and be ready to hit the Universal parks bright and early. The money you save will be eaten up by Harry Potter merch (HP stuff is so expensive I remember thinking it made Disney merch look cheap 😆 )
