I plan to cheer for my friends who are running the half-marathon at the finishing line at EPCOT this coming Saturday. After the race, I would like to visit MGM. If so, does Disney have direct transportation from EPCOT to MGM?

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure there is no bus service from Epcot to MGM, but there is the boat that goes from Epcot's International Gateway to MGM, with stops at the Epcot resorts.

Also, you could walk if the boat had a huge line. I'd say it'd take about 25-30 minutes walking at a fairly brisk pace. Or if the boat line at Epcot is really long, walk over to the Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach Club (5-10 minutes) and the boat lines might be shorter there.

There are busses between Epcot and MGM as well. Which would make more sense for the OP, since the finish line is in the parking lot of Epcot.

p.s. Cheer for me and my family, too!! :)

Since it appears that the finish line is in the Epcot parking lot you will have to enter Epcot and walk through FW. When you get to the boundary of FW and WS turn right. When you arrive at the United Kingdom just keep walking straight....don't take the bridge over to France. Walking straight will take you to the International Gateway. From there you can boat over to the Disney Studios or walk. The time is about the same either way although you do have to add extra time if you have to wait for a boat.
To walk you can continue straight past the Beach and Yacht Clubs or turn left and walk over the first bridge after you exit Epcot. This will take you to the Boardwalk side. The walks come together around the Swan/Dolphin and you can continue walking with the Boardwalk on your left and the water and Swan/Dolphin on your right. As noted already, the walk and boat both take about 25-30 minutes.

I thought they did away with the bus service as well but it has been a while since we tried and they may have brought it back. We were told at the time that we needed to take the boat to get to MGM from Epcot.

Maybe bus service between Epcot and MGM is seasonal? I was under the impression there was no bus service between the two parks, but maybe during busy times (such as the Marathon) Disney has service.

Where's Tyler when we need him? :smooth:

I've been on the bus between the two, and have seen it mentioned in other trip reports and the WDW website. There is NOT bus service to MK from Cont, Poly, or WL...maybe people are getting confused. It makes sense to have a bus as an option from MGM to Epcot...maybe some people don't have park-hoppers and don't have access to walk through Epcot to get to the boats (or from IG to the monorail, for that matter).

In October, we were told that there was a bus that went from MGM to the Epcot front gate (Future World).
