Epcot to MGM by Boat?

Can anyone give me mored details on this?
Can you leave epcot and go to MGM by Boat?Been to DISNEY a lot but never done anything like this
How long does it take and is there an extra charge

Go out of EPCOT at the Internation gateway just before the brige to France. This is where you can get a boat to the hotels BC, YC,BW,swan & dolphen, you will have to change boats to do this. Or you may want to save time walk to the dock at BC YC and get the MGM boat there. Just see if the boat is not at epcot when you get therethen it a short walk. This trip will take some time not the fastest but still good.

I don't think you have to change boats... I think it's a loop around the lake that goes from EPCOT to the hotels/boardwalk and ends up at MGM.

True it is time-consuming, about 25 minutes, but it is enjoyable.

We did this last week and you do not have to change boats. I believe a few years ago you did. Now the Friendship boats run from the Epcot International Gateway to the Disney Studios stopping at the Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht clubs and Swan/Dolphin along the way. The time is anywhere from 25-35 minutes. We had to wait for a late boat pulling out of the Swan/Dolphin so that held us up a bit. You can also walk between the two parks in about the same lenght of time. If you just missed a boat walking is actually much faster. To walk from Epcot you have the option of going along the boardwalk side or the Beach/Yacht clubs. These walks merge at the bottom of the bridge between the Swan/Dolphin and the Boardwalk Inn/Villas. Just keep walking with the water on your right side and the Boardwalk Inn/Villas on your left and you will get to the Studios.
