Epcot to DHS

What is the fastest way to get from the World Showcase to DHS for Fantasmic? How much time should I allow?

There is a friendship boat that leaves world showcase, stops at the resorts, and then heads to DHS. Just use the international gateway exit - between the U.K. and France.

The boat makes 3 stops before going to DHS. It's not a terribly long trip, but I'm not sure how long it takes.

This is a really nice way to get there. We went the opposite way from DHS to EPCOT. I think the ride was 30 or 45 minutes. It really is worth the ride.

Yup, depending on the wait for the boat, it's 30-45 minutes.

If you're up to it, you can walk it in 20-25.

The fastest way is to walk - 25 minutes at a leisurely pace. The launch also takes around 25 minutes - maybe 30. The glitch with the launch is the waiting time. We were there the week before Christmas and they were running eight! boats. Figuring that the round trip takes 60 minutes, that meant a boat showed up at the EPCOT dock, on the average, every 7 minutes. A more realistic situation is three or four boats or a 15 to 20 minute gap between boats. Get the idea? A hint: if you arrive at the EPCOT dock and a boat has just left (i.e. you can still see it) you can walk to the Yacht Club dock and catch up with the boat. That's because the boat goes to the Boardwalk Inn dock first.

Thanks - I thought so but wasn't sure. The bus will be from the regular bus area outside Future World - right?

Yes - to catch the bus you would have to walk from World Showcase to the front of Epcot. If you don't have issues with walking, we've walked from Epcot to DHS with no problem - 20 to 30 minute walk I'd estimate. If you catch the boat just right, it is probably about the same length of time. But if you have to wait 20 minutes for the boat, it is quicker to walk I think.

If time permits, the boat ride is nice! And as someone mentioned, if you see it leaving Epcot, you can catch up to it pretty easy.

If you're already in FutureWorld, then use the bus. But, if you're close to the International Gateway, in WS, you are better off going by either boat or foot. If there is a boat there, or one arriving, take the boat. The boat will stop at BW, YC/BC, S/D and then DHS. My friend and I got to the boat, just as they closed the doors. They wouldn't open them to let us on. So, we kiddingly shouted that we would beat them to DHS anyway. They laughed at us and said they would see who got there first.
Sure, they got to BW first, but after that...didn't see them again until we were at DHS, heading for the gates when we saw the boat coming down the canal..still had to come in and unload. We figured we beat them by about 8-10 mins.

The walk is nice, along a well-lit sidewalk. It's very well marked. But, if you would rather not walk, take the boat. Just plan on enough time...if the boat isn't there, it may be up to 20 mins before the next one comes along. Then, it will take 25 mins to motor from Epcot to DHS..so about 45 mins total time.

That will work for us - we're planning to spend the morning in Future World and then head to the Studios.

We did this 4 times in December - went from DHS to Epcot or vice versa...we walked, we took the Friendship boats & the bus. The bus between the parks was the fastest - we waited about 5 min. for the bus, then it was just a 5 min. drive over. The walk was about 25 min. The boat was the longest, that took 45 min. That boat ride seemed endless! It does all the resorts between the 2 parks.
