EPCOT to Chef Mickey's - time and how?

I have a 5:30 pm ADR for Chef Mickey's on a day that we will be in EPCOT. What time should I leave EPCOT? I guess we'll take the monorail from EPCOT to the transportation center stop and then I have to switch monorails to get on the Contemporary one, right?

You are correct, monorail to the TTC and then switch monorails.

I would be at the Epcot monorail station no later than 4:30, 4 if you'd like to play it safe in case you miss a monorail or there are any other unforeseen delays.

I'd say a bit less time, maybe 45 minutes or so. You'll board a monorail in EPCOT, take it to TTC and switch there to the resort monorail. You could also take the bus from EPCOT to the Contemporary instead. Have fun!

I didn't know they had a bus from EP to the Contemporary. Wouldn't that be much faster since it's a straight shot?

Yes all the parks have busses to the resorts. I would think it would be quicker, just wasn't sure if you wanted to ride the monorail or take a bus.

Yes, a bus would be fine too, like 2angelsinheaven said, I also assumed you wanted to take the monorail.

However, I always like to play it safe with Disney transportation due to delays, etc. The other day it took us 30 minutes to get to the MK from the TTC because they were switching monorails in the middle of the afternoon. You should have seen the line that formed. I rather be a little earlier for a reservation than be late, that way you can look around the resort, maybe do some shopping, etc.

According to laughingplace.com, there is no bus from Epcot to CR.

Wow, I was pretty sure there was a bus. Even the Poly has a bus from EPCOT. I'm going Thursday, I'll check.

It took us about 45 minutes. I wish I had asked the question here beforehand. We didn't really understand how the whole monorail connections worked. Here I was thinking the monorail would be really fast. I was mortified to be late for Chef Mickey's, and was so relieved that they still let us in.
