Epcot to Boardwalk Area

We often split days with hoppers and spend 1/2 at Epcot and then walk or boat to Studios.

We went to the Boardwalk one afternoon because we were in the area for mini golf. It was kind of quiet and boring during the day (could have been because it was January and the weather was kind of gross). I definitely wouldn't leave Epcot just to explore the Boardwalk, but if you have an evening off, sounds like it would be fun!

We did this too on a non park day. We were dining at the YSH and thought we would spend the afternoon enjoying the Boardwalk. Never in the afternoon again.

I like the Boardwalk and when we stay at teh BC we will often take a walk in the morning, exploe the shops, and just enjoy the scenery befoe we go into Epcot. I would neve leave EPcot during the day for that though. Take in Epcot, and plan dinner or cocktails on the Boadwalk at night. You will get a bigger retun on your time.

As DVC members are home resort is the Boardwalk. Activities there do vary by season but in the evenings almost every day there is something going on and for us it is a nice break from the parks. If you have a park hopper take a boat ride from Epcot's back gate stop at a boardwalk resort for lunch/dinner then continue the Boat ride to the studios or vice a versa.

Hello all. I have made a few trips to WDW, but am by no means an expert. Last time I was there was 6 years ago. We always stay at POR or PFQ.

Something I have been interested in doing is to explore the area outside the "back gate" by World Showcase in Epcot. I believe it is the Boardwalk area?

Is it worth popping out of the park through the back gate on an Epcot day and exploring?

Do any of you do this? I haven't stayed in that area, so I am not too familiar with what is there. Just looking for new things to explore. Thanks.

Yes, do it. On your Epcot day, take about fifteen minutes of your schedule (if you have one) and just pop out the International Gateway and see what is there. Then decide, based on your schedule, if you want to take a walk around to anywhere. Since you've never been back there, you can plan it at that moment instead of months in advance. Sometimes the "oh, it's there, let's just do it" makes a vacation.

IMHO, no its not really worth it. Especially during the daytime. Even at night, BW is probably only a 30-45 minute diversion with the few buskers and "skill" games.

If you've never done the stroll along the Boardwalk, yes, this is a respectful diversion if you frequent Disney and are looking for something 'new' to-do.

After a brief stroll, you come upon Yacht & Beach where you check things out, and/or walk over the commercial strip with ESPN (and their very cold beer) leading past the expected foods & novelty stores; Swan & Dolphin and Disney Miniature Golf are nearby too.

If you've never checked out the Epcot area hotels do it. I did it on my last trip and don't regret it but probably wouldn't do it again.
