I have a question about the international gateway. We will be at Epcot, and have a reservation for dinner at Cape May. Can someone tell me how to get there? Are there signs telling me where to go from Epcot to Beach Club? Is the path like a sidewalk area? Does the walkway take us directly to the building where Cape May is? Then when we want to come back to Epcot after dinner, will we have any trouble getting back in through the international gateway? I'm sorry for the questions...that may sound really silly. But, we've always just driven to Cape May...and we thought why not try something different this time. Thanks in advance!!

In WS, the walkway that leads to IG is next to the U.K. Pavilion - almost directly across from the Fish and Chips QS. Just follow the large path past the store and out the exit gates. You can hop on a Friendship Boat and that will take you to BC after it first stops at BWI. Or, you can follow the path and veer right to get to BC.

Just reverse directions to return to IG and Epcot.

It is fastest to walk. The very obvious path will take you to the BC in about 3 minutes.

The International Gateway is between the United Kingdom and France - just walk out the Gateway and follow the path - do not cross the bridge (that goes to the Boardwalk).

The first set of buildings you come to on the right (in pale blue) are all the BC resort - keep walking - the second sidewalk will be the back entrance into the BC lobby - its' set well back from the walkway. If you pass under the SAB waterslide you went too far!

Once in the BC lobby turn left - you'll walk into Cape May. If you do walk past BC the next place you can enter (you will walk all the way past SAB) is the YC lobby (entrance walkway lines up with the friendship boat dock)- just turn right, follow the walkway around and past Captain's Grill and Yachtsman Steakhouse - then outside, keep walking past the fitness club/spa and Beaches & Cream, go in the doors, keep walking around and you'll come into the BC lobby - at Cape May.

We got a little confused the first time we tried to go to Beaches and Cream from Epcot. Now we know just to walk straight and keep kind of to the right after leaving IG. You'll know when you get to the Beach Club and can just go inside from there and Cape May should be pretty easy to find. Or if you're really confused like we were, there's always someone around to ask!

Yes, it's easy and a quick walk. When you enter BC lobby, Cape May is on your left.

Thank you all so much. I knew I could count on you all! I feel much better about going from Epcot to Beach Club. :)

Best answer EVER, Robo. A picture is worth a thousand text-based posts.

We stayed in the BCV and the walk from International Gateway to the BC is super dee duper easy. No worries.

It's fun to take the "secret walkway" between Epcot and the Beach Club. It's a little paved sidewalk that runs alongside the water (while the main path goes up a fairly steep slope to join the bridge to the Boardwalk before coming down a slope where the secret way rejoins the main path). An advantage of the secret path is that you can't make a wrong turn and accidentally end up at the Boardwalk (not that you're likely to do that, with the pretty blue buildings of the Beach Club ahead on the right) as you walk there from Epcot. The secret path is also slightly faster, since people walking up the slope nearly always slow down!

Thanks for the "secret pathway" tip. I've walked that main path lots of times and not even noticed the lower pathway.

Yea, Its a short walk and some neat things on the way to look at. Our kids always enjoy walking from Epcot to BC during the day and renting one of the boats there for the hour and boating on the lake going under the bridges and trolling over to HS and back around for the hour. That's something if you have time that's also fun to do.

Yes! We like the "secret" pathway too! It's not that much shorter/different but at the end of a a long day a few shorter steps and less slope does feel better!
One year when I needed to push DH in a wheelchair it made a world of difference!
