EPCOT.....

.... I know everything needs updated and fixed ... but I think Eisner and Disney went to far with Epcot............

.......The thing that really stinks about this park now is the unhappy and not fun attactions that has come to this once beautiful park..... Music for one thing .......The Land was a lot more joyiest when John Dever was singing the them..... Imagination is a total disgrace from what it was.... Eisner should be fired for that one alone.... who cares if Kodak drops it's sponsership.... Fuji Film has been waiting at the doors for years...the sponsership thing is the biggest peice of crap thing to say that's the only way the attaction stays open's.... My $52 admission ticket is the biggest reason that park stays open.....Small world , Pirates, and Haunted mansion are old.. but I don't see no reason of changing them........ I do agree that the Life pav. and Living seas do need a rehab bad,........disney being cheap/ once again..... letting these attactions go down the toilet.. The best thing now Disney could do is to tare down all of future world and start over except for the countries , spaceship earth and the new space attaction... Future World ........has turned into Eisner World of the creap Future..

ohhhhh the old Epcot was so much better!!! I miss the good old days of riding the old Imagination ride, Horizons and World of Motion. I say keep Spaceship Earth and change everthing else. Now that I'm in tears, I need to grab a tissue.

It's to bad that the Disney parks are sinking to a new low. Years ago the whole family could go into most attractions and rides. Now the parks are turning into thrill parks. Even the maintenance is shameful. The Birnbaum books always talked about how the maintenance crews always kept the parks looking like new and now that is disappearing. Not only is Epcot not as much fun. Magic Kingdom and MGM are suffering the same fate. What we need is for the company to go back to running things like Walt wanted it to be.
I wish I didn't have to write this. I used to love WDW but now I have no desire to return.

What truly bothers me is that I'm seeing more and more of these types of comments and not just from the Disney faithful. A few people I know that don't really know that much about WDW have commented lately that they've heard that WDW isn't "that great" any more. If word like this gets around, what then?

I'll be there this March after a year and a half hiatus and I do wonder what I'll find...

I love WDW, and it breaks my heart to hear comments like these. Yes, Epcot does need updating. Mainly the Living Seas. In all of FW, that attraction is the saddest. With the technology available and the creative minds of Imagineers, Disney should have the most unbelievable sea/underwater pavillion anywhere. Seems that Mr. Eisner doesn't have the "to go where no theme park has gone before" attitude of Walt Disney. Walt wasn't afraid to take risks and spend money to do something outstanding. In fact, he would spend money he didn't even have to accomplish what he envisioned. You won't ever see that again. That's why Walt will always be the legend he is.

It seems to me that ME does not want to be in the theme park business. Why else does he only care about putting Disney Parks in foreign countries. He will do nothing creative but license out the Disney name with other parties putting up the money. The parks in this country will be run with him not putting up Disneys money or as little as possible. His interests do not lie in making WDW the magical place it was but to dabble in one venture after another.Walt Disney wanted to get away from carnie rides and ME must want to turn the parks into carnie rides like DCA. They needed a real visionary like Walt Disnney to run the parks and unfortunately that is not what they got!

Just take a look at what one can accomplish with vision and a sense of pride: Tokyo DisneySea. I probably will never get to see for myself what careful planning, a strong sense of quality and respect for the "audience" can do for a theme park. If I could, my bags would be packed for 1) Tokyo and then 2) Disneyland Paris, which has its brilliant aspects too.
A sad topic indeed--but one which must be discussed. Can I climb in a time machine set for 1977 * Walt Disney World * and re-live that fantastic feeling of walking down Main Street and seeing the Castle for the first time?

I don't know what is happening with Disney. Where did the imagination go? DisneySea is an example of doing it right - what is the excuse for DCA? Epcot needs an overhaul. The world showcase is fine (People do get tired of seeing the same old film on the countries - here's a thought, put in a cool dark ride like what Mexico and Norway has in each country). I know Mission Space is coming and that's fine. But I do agree BodyWars and the Living Seas is a waste of space.

Come on imagineers - use your imagination!!! Try sprinkling some pixie dust on youself. Think like Walt!!!!:bounce: :bounce:

Build a Horizons II. Epcot is suppose to take you on a magical journey into the future. Just look at some of the technology you find today at some of the Las Vegas Resorts. They are passing Disney by.

I love Disney a lot. That is why I'm speaking out. I see these problems and I'm baffled why the imagineers don't get it. Well, I do know why - it's Michael Eisner saying "no" to investing in the parks. DCA is a prime example what happens when you build it cheap - people stop coming. Go for the old Disney Quality.

Yes, the true Disney fans see what's happening. What will happen when the average person catches on. Wake up Mr. Eisner!!! Focus on the magic and stop spreading Disney out too thin.

Epcot is in a state of flux right now, and with the state of the economy and such, I'm sure the park will be as is for awhile. I really don't blame Disney for this, as much as I would like to. I remember with great love Horizons and World of Motion, but I so long as things improve, I'm satisfied.

Remember, they updated Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy and spiced up World Showcase with shows and musicals. They also replaced the staid Communicore with the Innoventions pavillion and greatly improved the food quality (IMHO). They also improved the Imagination ride (I may be in the minority to think that, but I'ts my dime). So, I have confidence that they will do the right thing when business picks up.

Until the money and sponsors come in, I'll wait patiently until they update Living Seas and whatever else and I'm sure I'll like whatever they put there. In the meantime, if you want Disney to change attractions, tell them in their surveys or don't go the parks. That is the best way to communicate with them.
