We are experienced Disney planners with a 10 year old daughter and are going with my brother's family who are newbies. They have twin boys that are 5. DSIL is letting me plan the trip the way I think best. She just mentioned a few must try restaurants and rides. They are getting the Disney Dining Plan with one table service, one counter service and two snacks each. We are paying out of pocket as we always do because the DDP just doesn't work for us.

So because they are on the DDP, we are booking more dining reservations then we normally do but are also planning to let them do a few without us. I am struggling with a table service at Epcot for them. We often do Via Napoli or sometimes walk over to BC and do Beaches n Cream. We sometimes just do American Adventure and I walk over and get fish n chips. Like us, my brothers family is not adventurous eaters so I'm trying to decide what restaurant to book for them or maybe we should go to Disney Springs for dinner instead. What do you guys think?

We already plan to book a character lunch at Tusker House to get ROL Package. The other restaurants we plan to booked are Liberty Tree, Hoop Dee Doo, Sci-Fi, Whisper Canyon and I am considering Trex.

My first thought was Biergarten because of the ooompah band. I think the twins would get a kick out of it, but if they aren't very adventurous, that may not work. Personally, I think the German food at Biergarten is pretty basic, but they might think otherwise. Take a look and see what you think.

So, the second thought was Garden Grill in the Land Pavilion. Definitely not adventurous and you get Chip and Dale. Breakfast is the cheapest meal if you plan to join them, but all three look good food wise.

B&C would work but you'd probably get a bigger bang for the buck at the Coral Reef. I don't eat seafood at all so we normally don't book here but others love it. Especially for 1 credit.
I find Via Napoli very Americanised. You could also do the ESPN club at BW for typical American fare.
Biergarten is our go to place in Epcot when we don't know where we want to go.

Is Biergarten a buffet? I was just looking at the menu here on Dis. I think my brother would like the German food. The roasted chicken and roasted potatoes sound pretty normal. Are there onions and/or peppers on the potatoes? Is there a sauce of some sort on the meatballs?

It is a buffet and they have some pretty basic foods. My DS9 who used to be very picky could always find something - he liked the chicken, salad and pretzel bread and even tried a few new things.

We went to our first WDW when my twin girls were 5 (geesh, now they're 14).

In Epcot we did Teppan Edo, but my family likes all kinds of foods. Personally, I would do Splittsville in Disney Springs. It has a little bit of everything. Much cheaper for you guys paying cash.

Garden Grill is fun with the revolving restaurant and the character interaction here tends to be great.

Via Napoli could work too

Rose and Crown for fish and chips?

B&C while not a super value, it is a nice basic place with awesome onion rings. Plus you get to see the area with an easy stroll over

so many options!
