Currently we have Garden Grill booked for lunch... we love it there and its a must do for us!!! But... the menu has evolved over time and now has pot roast (which we don't really eat). It is also our last day at DW. I am thinking of spreading out wings and potentially trying either Chefs de France, Rose & Crown, or San Angel. We are a multi generational family with kids 7 & 4. Either talk me into it- or talk me out of it.. Please help- we leave soon.

I love Akershus. But DH made a terrific point: We shouldn't limit ourselves to one favorite, especially at Epcot where there are so many choices.

I hate it when he's right. Sit down with your family, go over the options and see what everyone thinks.

Would breakfast at GG fit the bill?

Look at the menus as see what fits everyone's tastes best. I loved our lunch at San Angel Inn and really like Chefs de France (haven't been to Rose & Crown). I was originally afraid of San Angel given reviews here, but we loved it. And I was prepared to rave about Chefs due to reviews, but it was good but not great. So I've learned just to look at a menu and take my chances...just make sure everyone in your party understands that it might be amazing or it might just be ok, but it's the new experience in each other's company that really counts :) .

We liked Rose & Crown. Haven't been to Chefs de France yet, but it's on our list. San Angel is pretty far down the list for us. We are from Texas and can get good authentic Mexican, not just TexMex food. However, it does seem lovely being next to the boat ride.

San Angel has good or better food and is really unique in terms of setting. R&C is pretty solid. I haven't been to Chefs since childhood, because if I want french - I'll go upstairs:) Branching out sounds fun!

All three are solid choices, and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Rose n Crown is very good...Just simple fare....But still good. Nice ambience.... SAI I was pleasantly surprised....Besides the atmosphere ( which is awesome ) The food is actually pretty good, & the service was excellenet..So many people constantly filling water, taking plates away etc. etc. Now Chefs de France....Huge disappointment....*( not that I had high expectations ) Other than having Remy (Ratatouille) there with a guy, the food was much to be desired...The portions were small, price was higher, and the service (to Me ) was bad....And it felt like we were a bother to them.:confused3

For my family we prefer a lighter lunch as its already so hot here ( yep I am a local) if you want to try the fish and chips from Rose and Crown they are also served at the QS right next door for a lot less $$, and very yummy... We prefer to do sit downs (TS), for dinner as everyone is tired and ready to relax a bit, with kid's ... I would lean towards Teppan Edo in Japan, this keeps the kids entertained, or Corral Reef with the Aquarium viewing is amazing my kids loved eating here, again giving them something to do. Chefs is one of our favorite for lunch or dinner, but I will say it does time a bit more time, and the food is very good.

There are a ton of options at EPCOT, as well as just outside, ( Boardwalk, B&YC, & Swolphin too )

Via Napoli is kinda fun. Family friendly too. What about Coral Reef?

All three places you named as potential options are worth trying. We have a reservation for Chefs de France in July, in fact.

When it comes to Epcot restaurant, and I find that there is no universal consensus. Everybody has their own preferences. The only way you'll know what you like is by taking risks and exploring. You might find a new favorite. If not, at least you had a new experience!

I like R&C too. Honestly if I was choosing one I think I woudl look at SAI. The kids might get a kick out of have dinner in the pyramid, and the food is good.
I also have not had a meal at Chefs.

For food quality, I would choose R&C. For atmosphere, San Angel. Chefs is noisy and the food is super salty, IMHO.

Nothing to talk you into or out of.

Coin toss is my final answer between Chefs, Rose, San Angel.

Another vote for Rose & Crown. I am making my way through the whole menu & there has not been one thing I can say I did not care for. Always good service also & a nice setting inside or out on the patio.

You weren't seeking an authentic French experience?:duck:

We love both Chefs and R&C but do Chefs for lunch-lighter food-and R&C for dinner on the patio to watch Illuminations. I have never had a bad meal at either in 17 trips.
