Hello -

I was wondering what the character storytelling is at EPCOT.
It is an option for my package, is it worth the time??

Thanks for your help!

The only storytelling I'm familar with in EPCOT is during the holidays. They have storytellers in some of the countries, but this isn't extra $$$. It's part of the holiday events.

Maybe it's a tour they may be referring to??

My 6 year old dd loved the storytelling in Epcot. There is a giant book and with the help of special effects a talking bookmark comes out and tells one of many possible stories. We heard Sleeping Beauty and at the end an unexpected character pops out of the book for a very private meet and greet. We saw Auroa Mulan and Snow White. But there could be any number of characters there. Earlier Cinderella and the Prince were there. If you like meeting characters and/or you have children it is very worth it. It is located in Inoventions West ( I think that's the name of the building) next to the forest where you can make paper and learn about tree conservation. We were there in July and the place was empty. It is as upclose and personal as you can get with Disney characters.

Hope this helps.

jenjenmouse,

Did you have to make a reservation for the storytelling in Epcot or did you just show up at Innovations West? Did you see any younger children, about 4, enjoy the story? My daughter is just about 4 and always loves to listen to a story, but I wasn't sure if she would have a hard time sitting still. How long does the story last?

Thanks!
Amy

Yes you do have to make a ressie. You call that same number. I just did it from our hotel but I think you can call 1-407-wdw-dine Just like when you make ps's for a charater breakfast/meal. I don't know how much it costs because it was a choice in my package. I could have chosen mini-golf, world of sports or this storytelling thing. There were plenty of 3 to 8 year old children in there and I even enjoyed the experience. The story is about 15 minutes or so long and there is lots of interaction. It's just a small room and can hold about 30 kids on the floor and then they put seats around the back wall for the grown ups. I'd say that it's sort of like a classroom size area. No stage, Just a giant book, a person dressed up like a giant book mark and lighting and sound effects. I think most children would enjoy it . You don't really have to sit still. But your dd might just get into it and answer out etc.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Wow this sounds really cool. A new secret?? Do you remember if there were specific times of the day when this was available? I guess I'll have to call Dis Dining to find out details as we'd have to pay (if it is available to do that).

Thanks for the info! This would be a nice alternative to the breakfasts.

It seems like they were in 30 minute or so intervals. Like from 2pm, 2:30, 3:00 etc. I think the last one is at 4:30. At least it was in July.
