Has anyone done the new "Keep Moving Forward" segway tour at Epcot? DH really wants to do it (so do I, but one of us has to stay with the kids!), so I booked him on the 9am tour for the day after we arrive. - Hopefully jetlag doesn't kick in too badly or he might roll the thing :rotfl2:!

BUT.... I've just realized that we are booked in for lunch at Akershus at 12:05pm. The Segway Tour finishes at 12pm - what are the chances that he will be able to finish up the tour and meet us in time for lunch? I know he would be really disappointed if he missed seeing our girls meeting the princesses for the first time (it's our first trip to Disney). Does the tour finish right on time? Any idea where it finishes in relation to the restaurant? And has anyone had lunch at Akershus? Will they rush us, or will it be ok to wait 15 minutes for DH to arrive if necessary? I could have got him in on the 7:45am tour, but that seemed a bit harsh since we probably won't even arrive at the hotel until at least 10pm the night before after 27 hours of travel ....

Unless it has changed the tour will start and finish in the training hall near the exit of Innoventions on the Land side of Epcot. At the most a 5 minute walk to Akershus. Generally the tour will finish early or on time. I would think he would have no problem for 12.05pm ADR.

Thanks for that!! :cool1:

I think breakfast is included with the new segway tour too, so make sure he doesn't fill up too much :rotfl:

bfast is included after the introductory lessons..so about an hour after you start over at seasons....you get a choice of hot or cold breakfast

fantastic experience..i was terrified but after a few minutes was comfortable and competent...

will do it again....we picked the latest time, so world showcase was a bit packed, so maybe next time we'll choose the earliest time and zoom around before it opens.

instructors were great.....:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

oh, and the tour started and finished on time.....disney never ever run late.....

Did the automatic brakes slow you down? I thought my segway was trying to throw me off until the guide told me I was trying to go too fast!

I didnt have a problem going too fast :rotfl2: my issue was going too slow....I am a non driver so not used to judging distance, speed etc......so i just attached myself to the end of the line and puttered along:yay:

OMG this looks so fun :cool1: DH is going to LOVE it! I'm a tad jealous - can you tell?? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'd go again - either the DCA version, or the fort wilderness one. Or hey, why not even the epcot one again :rotfl:

I have convinced DH to do this (he as actually excited about something at Disney).

What tour time did you guys book? We are not morning people, but thinking of booking the first tour. I am rather petrified of running people over if we do the later tour when World Showcase will be open.

DH is booked for 9am, which finishes at noon. Hopefully world showcase won't be too busy. I would have liked the 8:30 tour but it was full. 745 is just toooooo early for us

It looks like so much fun - enjoy!!! :goodvibes

we booked the latest session...i think it was 10.30 ....we like to sleep in, but maybe next time we'll go earlier, less crowds to dodge and a bit cooler than midday in world showcase......def worth the $$$$....and if you have DVC or AP you get a discount of 15 %...

try the aqua tour at epcot...my DH loved it......there are so many tours to do, that the blokes will be well catered for....segway at wilderness camp grounds, seeds tour at living with the land, wild by design at animal kingdom....all got the :thumbsup2 from my DH......

disney isnt just about the rides....

I think I will book the early session. I have wanted to do the segway's for ages but haven't because of the kids. Good thing we have the inlaws with us to look after them.

I had not heard of the aqua tour. DH is keen to do the nascar thing (forget its name). I was looking at Keys to the Kingdom, but that would be on my own, def not a DH thing.

Hmmm, now I wonder which segway tour would be best. Looks like the fort wilderness ones go off road, which is more DH's style.

I think there is a 15% AAA discount too.

Most of the Fort Wilderness Segway is on paved paths, the section from Wilderness Lodge back to Fort Wilderness is dirt paths, the whole tour is excellent, IMO much better then the Epcot one.

Fort Wilderness you need to allow plenty of time to get there, the tour leaves from the Bike Barn which is midway in FW.

The main reason we did the epcot one was to get into the park before it opened.

It didn't take long and we just caught taxis every time we had somewhere to be. :lmao:

I think we will do the Fort Wilderness tour. DH will prefer than over Epcot. Thanks for the link Karen.
