I think someone asked this question within another thread, but I did not see a response. Thanks for your help.

Both open at the same time. The IG is smaller in area so it can get crowded more quickly.

Rule of thumb:
If you are near the IG, enter via the IG.
If you are near the front gate, enter via the front gate.

Others can jump in, but it depends on your plans, what attraction you want to prioritize. As I understand things, IG potentially puts you at a disadvantage for front-of-park attractions like TT, Soarin'.

Anybody know if that's still the case? That was the case early summer.

IG puts you at a definite disadvantage for TT. For Soairn' it's an okay option - but people from the front will still beat you there. My husband and I move quickly and are usually the front of the pack from IG when we're there, and still can't make TT with a decent wait (usually at least an hour any time we've tried). Soarin' we've waited maybe 15-20 minutes as the first people from IG to make it there. Frozen is usually the best bet from IG - we've pretty much routinely been the first ones on the ride any time we've tried that one.

We rope dropped Frozen in June. Walked from IG past France, Italy, etc and it was so quiet and lovely. The crowd heading toward soarin and TT was pretty huge
