Epcot restaurants

Hi - I'm taking a friend to Disney who has never been before. I'm planning on making PS for an Epcot restaurant and need your help! Which restaurant in the World Showcase would people recommend?

We always try to go to the Cantina de San Angel in Mexico. The inside of the pavilion looks like a marketplace, with the restaurant to the back. People are going by on the ride on the "river" next to you. The food is good, and the atmosphere is great.

I would have your friend look at the menu's at WDWIG.com. That way you can both make the choice together. My fav is Chef's de France.

Le Cellier - Cheese soup, pretzel bread and a lovely big juicy steak!! You and your friend will have a fab time in this restaurant!!

Oh my goodness - maybe I should have asked which one's aren't good because it seems like it's still going to be a hard decision lol. The menus at wdwig are a great idea and thanks for all your feedback! We probably can't go wrong no matter which one we pick.

Also don't forget there are several good places to eat at Boardwalk and the EPCOT resorts.

LOL I know what you mean !!

UK, Mexico, France and Canada would all get my vote in EPCOT. Nothing wrong with the others just those are my personal choices. If I had to choose one it would Le Cellier.

Otherwise if you do the Boardwalk area I'd be choosing Spoodles or Flying Fish

Or at the Yacht & Beach Club I'd be tempted with a special meal at the Yachtsman Steakhouse - but if you really like your steak then go for it at Shula at the Dolphin.

Hmmm - a couple of votes for Le Cellier which makes me happy since I am a Canadian. This leads me to my next question - do I go to Florida and eat in a restaurant with Canadian employees and Canadian food - or go down the street and do it? LOL Thanks for your feedback and suggestions!

I agree, Le Cellier, Chef de France are great!
A more upscale french dinner is found at the Bistro de Paris.

Not impressed w/ restaurant in Mexico.

Depending on what types of food, and how adventerous you both are ... try Morocco.

If you can time it right, R and C in the UK is awesome to sit on the patio and dine and watch Illuminations.

I'm going to be in the vocal minority here, since bashing my favorite Epcot restarant seems to be a sport on these boards.

But I just LOVE Alfredo's!!!

The Epcot restaurant my wife and I like best is Restaurant Akershus in the Norway pavilion.

Not to be a copycat or anything...but Le Cellier is my favorite restaurant in WDW. And I'm a vegetarian! My mom and sister, both meat eaters, also chose Le Cellier as their favorite.

The worst restaurant for me at Epcot was L'Original Alfredos (sp?)...the Italian restaurant. I do not recommend that one.

Well then I would have to say don't. I'm from the UK and have never eaten at the UK's Rose and Crown for the above reasons I come on vacation from across the pond to get away from the UK. I would like to eat here one day but I want to try all the other restaurants first. Le Cellier is good though and I guess we'd have to wait for another Canadian to say that they think it's worth it.

Marrakesh is getting really good write up's recently. Alfredos seems to be one of those restaurants that for every good review there is a bad one. I think also Alfredos is the sort of place I'd like to go to on a cold night for some comfort food and ambience. The Mexico restaurant looks soooo well themed but again I've not eaten here so don't know what the food is like.

I have to agree with Sam, I'm from the UK as well and would never dream of eating in the Rose and Crown.

Vacations are times when you can do exactly what you want, when you want. If you want to have ice cream and cookies for breakfast it is quite acceptable because you are on holiday.

IMHO I would try new and exciting places that you can't try at home, it has always worked for me!!!LOL!!!!

If you want something different try Marrakesh(sp?) in Morrocco. Lots of different, interesting foods to try and they have entertainment.

We like Akershus the best but we haven't been to all of the restaurants yet. I would agree to pick the restaurant with the menu that appeals most to you. Good luck and have fun!

I really enjoy Le Cellier and Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco). But as someone said, no matter what you choose, you can't go wrong.
