Here are my questions.

If you eat at Rose and Crown and make a time close to illuminations I've heard how they have the outdoor patio area. If you eat inside will they let you out on the patio to watch illuminations or do you have to have a table out there? Also, ifthey let you out there do they have a sparate area to view than by the patio tables as I wouldn'twant ot obsturct the tables outside view, that seems just wrong. How do they do this? I hear the view is great but if you don't sit outside are you jsut out of luck?

Also we are going to try restaurant marrakesh next trip and was wondering where by this restaurant would be a good spot to see illumintaions?

As for Tepan Edo how is it? We've only done hibachi once and the other members in our family havent' at all. Will it entertain, how long was the meal(so we can plan times accordingly) and what did you get. The one we experienced you got salad, soup, fried rice, noodles, veggies and entree

Akerhaus- what does the inside of the restaurant look like? I hear castle like and we've done CRT so I'd like to know.

Biergarten- we're a family of 7 would we be seated with another family?-How big are the tables?

Also are the wheelchair spots to watch illuminations from since we're on the topic. i will also ask in the disabilities board, thanks.

Thanks

This area will not obstruct the view of guests dining on the patio.

also we are going to try restaurant marrakesh next trip and was wondering where by this restaurant would be a good spot to see illumintaions? we like the food there and the belly dancer is entertaining. However there is no view of illuminations, whatsoever.

Will it entertain, how long was the meal(so we can plan times accordingly) and what did you get. The one we experienced you got salad, soup, fried rice, noodles, veggies and entree IMO this place is no better or worse than any other hibatchi style restaurant. Menus can be found at allears.net. Fried rice is not served here- that is a chinese dish. They serve plain rice.

akerhaus- what does the inside of the restaurant look like? I hear castle like and we've done crt so i'd like to know. you can google photos of the restaurant- go to google images

biergarten- we're a family of 7 would we be seated with another family?-how big are the tables? you would probably end up with your own table, since most seat 8. There are, however, a few 10 tops IIRC

also are the wheelchair spots to watch illuminations from since we're on the topic. I will also ask in the disabilities board, thanks. yes, there are a couple. They are marked on the park map. They are not that big, however, so you will need to arrive early to ensure a spot

thanks

We ate at the Rose and Crown a couple of weeks ago, and I must say there is nothing special about the food. It is one of the few Epcot meals I've left hungry. eating out side was a pain the wing kept blowing away our napkins and the birds keep poking around your feet. Have only eaten here once the three of us ordered different meals and none of us cared much for them or for the deserts. Don't think we will likely eat here in the future.

Teppan Edo is great. The food is good the staff are among the best at WDW the whole meal takes about an hour. I love the steak and chicken my wife always gets the scallops. We book it now every trip and have not had bad experience yet. It's a must do for our family.

Akershus is nicely decorated inside with a place dining room feel. I prefer breakfast to their dinner menu mostly because I do not eat seafood and the buffet is mostly shrimp and salmon. The princesses interaction is the same at both the meal times we been there we have never done lunch. A good restaurant that we try to fit in every year.

We have only done Biergarten once 3 years ago with a party of 5 and we ate at a table with 2 other couples so I would think it likely you would still be sharing yours, the food wasn't to our taste, and as none of us drink the beer offered on the menu wasn't a plus for us. They seemed under staffed here it to a very long time to get our drinks the first time, and refills we difficult to get also. Have never been back and really have no desire to eat here again.

I didn't think that illuminations could be seen from the restaurant, instead I was looking for someplace logistically that we could go after dinner that would have a good view- Japan, France, America, where would a good view be?

I think rose and crown has a good view and I thinks the food is great. Everyone has their own opinion. Especially if you can get a patio seat. There is nothing like having a good dinner and drink watching Illuminations. Rose and crown is always the first restaurant we get a ressie for when booking them. It's a must for us.

If you try to view the lower light effects and the globe from outside Morocco, you could find your sight lines obstructed by one of the islands in the lagoon. You'll probably find a better, unobstructed view by going over between Japan and the American pavilion. If you take a look at this map of Robo's, you'll see what I mean:

We love the Rose And Crown and watched Illuminations there on our last trip. It was a great view, and everyone stayed at their table. Since we had extra room, we invited another family further back who had small children to join us for the show. Our experience was that no one came out of the restaurant and blocked people's view. I believe many of the tables are right up to the rail, so not really an option.

We have also had good experiences with Biergarten. Once as a couple, and once as a group of 8. We had our own table both times. We liked the food, but then again we like German food in general.

I've been to R&C on the patio.

I don't think their would be any room for non-seated guests to just stand and view Illuminations. There isn't anymore room than needed for the the dining area that it is.

We have a 7:45pm reservation at R&C. Will we still be there to see illuminations? Is there any way to request a patio table or is it just chance?

You can request a patio seat but there are no guarantees. If Illuminations is at 9pm a 7:45pm ressie will still have you there seated. Just eat slow and order an appetizer and desert and perhaps another drink or two. That is what we do. It's nice.

We were told that to get a patio seat at the R&C for Illuminations, Make your request in person when you first get there. Even though your reservation is hours away. It is a first come first serve thing. However I have also heard that it depends on the CM as to how well it works.

If there is in fact a separate patio area for watching illuminations for those not sitting on the patio why is there sucha concern to get patio seating? I would be happy to sit inside and then just go out and watch. Am I not tinking about this in the right way?

Many people want to watch IllumiNations while they're eating/sitting at a table so they request a patio table, but if you would rather eat inside you can easily go outside to the area adjacent to the patio and watch the show from there. We prefer to eat indoors. Sometimes we're done with our dinner just before IllumiNations, other times we've returned to our table afterwards to finish our dinner.

The viewing spot for those in the actual Rose and Crown is adjacent and just below the terrace where you eat. Nobody from inside comes onto the terrace.

As the PPs have said, the viewing area is to the left of the restaurant (when facing WS lagoon). You'll actually exit R&C, head behind the check-in podium, go down the pathway, and turn right at the T. There should be a CM at the entrance making sure only R&C guests enter the reserved viewing area. On the map below, the red square is approximately where the viewing area is located.

The view is great from the reserved area, but not necessarily any better than other locations around WS. I like the food at R&C, so being able to watch IllumiNations (regardless of where you're seated) is a perk. You can go out to the viewing area regardless of where you're seated (not all patio tables have a good view of the lagoon). Here is a photo taken from the reserved viewing area:

If we are to sit inside for dinner at R&C, again I don't care either way where we sit, do they give you notice of when to go to the reserved area? I could see us sitting down and totally forgetting until it is too late. Also it sounds like a trek, going out of the restaurant, around and about. Is it wheelchair accessable? Is it more pomp and circumstance to get through the restaurant with a wheelchair? We've never been but some places seem to have tables closer together than others. Is it weird, to get up in the middle of dinner and leave your food? Kind of against everything my mother ever taught me( especially in a public place). Do they time your food since most everyone would be distracted for illuminations so you wouldn't be in the middle of a course? For example, apps, then say if you're viewing illuminations this is a good time to go out and then have your entree when you return, or is it a free for all and you could just wind up with cold food? thanks for all the answers and patience with my questions, I am an overplanner who strives for perfection while I understand it won't be and to just be in the moment and enjoy. However, that is easier siad then done.

If you tell your server at the start of the meal that you want to watch IllumiNations, they'll try to get you out there on time. However, it's always good for you to keep an eye on the time and remind the server if it's getting close. They are busy and don't always remember.

In terms of timing, it really depends on you. They won't pace the meal for you, but if you do order dessert (for example) before the show, it should be on your table when you get back (at least it was for my family when we've been there). However, if you're in the middle of the course, you can still go watch the show, so yes, the food will get cold while you watch. You might be able to ask them to wait to put the order in until you get back from the show.

The tables aren't really close together (not like at Le Cellier), so you should be able to maneuver a wheel chair. The reserved viewing area has a wall in the front. I can't remember exactly how tall it is, but I know it's tall enough that most folks can lean on it with their elbows.
