Hello everyone! My wife and I are planning our second trip to WDW for this winter. Last time, we stayed at the Swan for our honeymoon in 2006 and were delighted with the hotel. We know for sure that we want to stay in the Epcot resort area again, but I would like to be able to use the DME and add the dining plan to our trip this time. We're trying to decide between the Yacht Club or The Boardwalk and would like other people's opinions. Any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone! Any thoughts?

You would be fine with either one of them. I own at BW and love it there. I'll be there next week. And my dh is going to be at the YC, for a convention..so I'm dying to see how he likes the YC.
They both have that great Epcot access. And it sure is nice to be able to use DME.
BW has a lot of different restaurant options as well as that nighttime entertainment that so many love. But, you could just walk over and partake if you are at YC. The one thing I don't care for at BW is the lack of quick serve foods. I miss having a food court, even a small one. BC has the Marketplace and that's a nice perk.
Transportation is about the same for both the resorts.

We too have stayed at the Swan and loved it and stayed at the YC in Oct for 3 nights and it was fantastic! Very quiet and we had the adult pool and spa to ourself the entire stay. Super clean rooms and very friendly staff.

We are going back in Oct and trying out the BW with a waterfront view.

It is a much easier walk from the BW to MGM than it is from YC. The distance to the international gateway at Epcot is about the same. YC tends to be a little quieter IMO certainly more so than the BC. Of course this depends on when you are there. The Beach Club lobby always seems like it is very busy. The pool is better at the YC/BC than BW. They are all really great, I sort of view them as one big resort with different themeing.

WE are going to the YC over Easter - there will be 7 of us- we have 2 rooms overlooking the Lake. We were there 8 years ago and absolutely loved it. Very classy place. We like the BC, also, stayed there twice, but there's something about the YC. It's so great to be on the Boardwalk for all the restaurants and activities and such, but then leisurely walk back to the YC, it just looks so inviting with all the lights! Have a great time wherever you decide - we are looking forward to it so much!:rotfl:

I am a big YC fan myself (will be going there for the 13th time in March), but all the Epcot resorts are wonderful. You really can't go wrong with any of them.

BC will forever be my favorite, but YC would come in second since they are so similar. The biggest difference is the closeness to Epcot and the decorations are light and airy at BC. We just love BC!!!! We love to go to the BW in the evenings to see the activities, but at the BC, it is only a couple minutes walk to the BW.

our first trip in 12 years this past November included a YC stay. LOVED IT! Had a great view of the lake and over to the boardwalk, and could even see the tops of some of the Epcot buildings...which of course meant we could eat some ice cream treats from Beaches & Cream while we sat on our balcony and watched the Illuminations fireworks!

Overall, an excellent stay. For '08, we're doing a MK resort to change it up...but I know the YC will always be my choice if/when we decide to do an EPCOT resort again.

:thumbsup2 Thank you very much for all of your opinions; they've been of great help! I lvoe this board! Thanks once again!
