What is your feeling on taking an evening and not eating dinner but just snacking and getting quick-service type items as you walk through the countries in Epcot? We are a group of 5, two parents, two grandparents, and DD 10. We all have a lot of different tastes and preferences where food is concerned so each sit-down place in Epcot appeals to some but not others. On both of our previous trips to Disney, we spent very little time in the World Showcase other than a quick walk through each time. This time we want to spend more time there since DD is older and we will have the grandparents along. On one of our Epcot days we'll be eating at the Cape May Cafe seafood buffet at the Beach Club, which is DH's only requirement. But we're planning to be at Epcot another evening so I thought it might be a good chance to get different things to eat as we walk through the countries. Are there plenty of quick-service and snack-type places that we'll have a lot to choose from? Any input is greatly appreciated!

It sounds like fun to me! You've got fish & chips in UK, the bakery in France, the CS place in Morocco is yummy, etc... Some countries will have something sweet to try. Someplaces will have a dinner-type selection. I would enjoy spending an evening like this. You would know the grandparents in your party though. (I'm not sure my in-laws would like this - after a while, they would want to sit and have dinner somewhere.) But if everyone in your party thinks it's a good idea - do it. There's plenty of food to find!

The CS in Morocco is my favorite!!!! The tabouleh platter is a must on each trip. Japan is disappointing in that California rolls are the only sushi available. All in all I think its a great idea. It slows down the pace of going through the showcase and gives lots of chances to rest your feet.

Sounds like a great idea! They have a great snack in China! 2 Eggrolls! Man they are some kind of good!:rolleyes1

That's what we usually do - sometimes we try to get something from each country, sometime we just eat whatever sounds good at the time.

If you want a true quick service meal, I think Tangierine Cafe in Morocco is by far the best CS there. You could always split a platter there between a couple of people.

I would recommend you try the School Bread at the Kringla Bakeri of Kafe in Norway. My favourite snack!

That's a fantastic strategy.

The last time we went, we ended up eating in Mexico. It was okay, but my crew was tired afterwards and wanted to go home instead of visiting the rest of the countries.

if you REALLY wanted to explore, instead of sometimes having to choose between a dessert or an appetizer, maybe all splitting an entree or so....

my fav is Kringle in Norway :) (sweet pretzel w/ icing) :thumbsup2

China CS has good entrees to split as well, and I love the fish & chips in the UK

and who doesn't want to split a funnel cake in the good ol' US of A?

Or the Grey Goose Frozen Lemonade ;) If you wanna go that way... It is at a kiosk in France. :cool1:

We did this in Dec. We started with Fish in chips(& beer) in England, Crepes and other sweets in France. Walked past Morocco and Japan. Hot Dog & Turkey leg in America(for the kids.) Pretzel(& beer) in Germany. Can't remember what we ate in China(Chinese food probably :) .) Something sweet in Norway. Nachos( & beer for me & margarita for wife) in Mexico. Favorite was the fish & chips.

Thanks for the replies. I think that's what we're going to do. I think it will be good day to do it as we will be spending the morning and early afternoon at Animal Kingdom and then back to the resort for a break so that should give us some down time to relax and then head over to Epcot on the monorail from the Poly and eat our way around the world!
