i posted this on the scrapbook forum too, but i thought you guys might be able to help me... at least i hope you can!!!

here's what i wrote over there:

im heading down to disney in a couple weeks and epcot is my 1st stop (after downtown disney). My question to all of you is this:

What can you get at the world showcase for scrapbooks? I saw once on the boards here that someone suggested money from the different countries, but what else???

I'm completley clueless as to what the world showcase has to offer for any ideas when it comes to scrapbooking, as this is my 1st time in epcot since i was 5 (and if you ask me what i remember, i will say nothing.lol)

I'm thinking about taking some pictures of my friend and i in the hats from the different countries, or trying the food from different countires... but i need page embelishments!!! and im driving myself nuts with the possibilites. lol

so needless to say, any help you wonderful disboarders can give me is beyond appreciated!!!

thank you soooo much!

EPCOT has park maps in many different languages. I think all the parks might do this, but EPCOT has them right inside the park entrance.

I don't know about scrapbooking supplies, because I don't do that. You might try the big MouseGears store, which is near the fountain. They seem to have just about everything!

Have you thought of incorporating a pin of each of the places you eat from the world showcase.

Also bring a couple of pages as they have the kids station and you can have them stamped.

and Maybe menu's

you also might get hats of different nations embellishments, at your local scrapebook store then as you get picture of you and your friends with hat's as a theme.

There is a store at DD that has tons of scrapbooking supplies, Disney's Wonderful World of Memories. Last time I got stickers and stuff for my grandkids, a Mickey hole puch and Mickey ears edging scissors for me and noticed they had a ton of stuff from all parks, stickers and the die cut shapes and stuff...look there and you will probably find a lot of items for Epcot. I don't even scrapbook and I was tempted to buy it all. Here's the store description and location from AllEarsNet:

"Disney's Wonderful World of Memories offers a new collection of Walt Disney World-branded scrapbook supplies, including albums, pre-packaged kits, adhesive tape pens, glue sticks, scissors, and a wide assortment of colorful Disney stickers. Also available are Disney books, stationery, pens and postcards, plus several stations where guests can create scrapbook pages and postcards. Located next to Art of Disney and replaces the 2R's Reading and Riting shop."

I would bring white card stock and have it stamped at the different countries (like a passport), then you can cut them out and place them in your book. They have a stamp at all of the Kidcot Fun Stops in the World Showcase.

What I did with mine is:
Got mask charm - thing that each country adds to mask at kidcot station, I just asked if I could have one didn't do mask that trip.

Asked kidcot cm to stamp my card stock with their country stamp and write a message to me. I got some cute ones like Uk put welcome to UK home of eeyore and pooh. Each country has their own 4x6 piece of white cardstock in my book.

I bought Jolees for countries that had them, I got mine at Michaels, LSS etc. but world of memories sells them too.

I also bought stickers of flag titles and cute die cuts of country names.

one thing i'd love to have/make is mickey head flags of each country like pins they sell.

I hope this gives you some ideas.

excellent ideas! thank you all so much. Are there any other ideas anyone else has??? I don't turn away helpful suggestions!!! please... share ANY ideas you have!

(it can be for any of the parks, doesnt have to be just epcot:) )

another cute idea was someone on disney scrappers group on yahoo took pages of questions and answers from mouse for less kids activity section and put those on scrapbook pages.

I remember reading somewhere about someone purchasing paper for the various countries from scrapyourtrip.com and then utilizing that for the various pictures of the countries.

I was thinking of doing something similar for our next trip and also purchasing the coordinating jolees. It's tough to know until I see the pictures, but most likely I will purchase the paper anyway.

Our last trip, we didn't spend a lot of time exploring the countries, so that will be on the agenda this trip :Pinkbounc . I really want some good pics for this scrapbook.

Enjoy!

There are lots of neat stuff, it just depends on the eyes of the beholder...

How about buying some chocolate/candy from each country and using the wrappers?

MouseGears has scrap book supplies. You could use napkins, maps, pieces for the masks at the kidcot stops.

Japan has very pretty origami paper. And I really like the candy wrapper idea; you can also use labels off of bottles, too.

Last time I was there, I bought a package of postcards that had pictures of each country. It was a relatively inexpensive way to ensure I had good pictures of each country. I like a lot of the other ideas I'm hearing - especially having someone from each country write on 4 x 6 cardstock. The Jolee's are awesome accents too. My goal for my next trip is to actually get to all the countries!

I got a packet of postcards that represented each country. I also found some fun dimensional stickers ... a France packet that had the Eiffel tower, croissants, etc. ... an England packet that had a little bear dressed as a policeman, an English telephone booth, etc ... a Canadian packet that had hockey sticks, leaves, etc. Then I tried to take at least a couple of pictures in each country, and then made a page (or two or three) for each country.

You could get a pressed penny from each country. I'm not sure how easy/difficult it would be to scrap those but its an idea
