Can anyone explain or enlighten me on the passports for kids that they can get stamped in each land?

We have been to WDW three times in the last three years. This will be first trip that we plan to spend a lot of time in Epcot. We have just kind of hopped and skipped this particular park. Thanks for the info.

You can buy the passport at any of the coutries around the world showcase. They look just like a leather passport. Its really cool, has stamps for the child to add to each country and a place for a CM in each country to autograph and also stamp. In our experience the CM's write a personal note to the child by name or about their fav thing in their country. You can also stop at the "kidspot" at each country and make a mask - this is free vs the 12.00 for the passport. The mast can be colored and or decorated and each country stamps the stick and gives the child somethem particular to that country to add to the mask. Both activites are really great - probably the 3-9yo would enjoy the mask and then say 6 and up would enjoy the passport instead or as well as the mask!! My girls are 6 and 8 and have done the mask every year for the past 4, this was the first year we did the passports and they both liked them but my 8yo was much more into the passport and my 6yo liked the mask better.

You didn't mention the ages of your children but my girls LOVE epcot, especially the world showcase. They really enjoy all the live entertainment and I think they find it refreshing after a day of rides at MK or MGM. They espcially like the acrobats at China and the mask show in Italy as well as the living statue, don't miss the candy maker in Japan or any of the singers in the American Pavilion. My girls love American Vibe while I perfer Voices of Liberty but we all like them both. Off Kilter is another of our family favorites.

OK - sorry more info than you requested, HTH

The girls are 9 and 6. They both look for different license plates while we travel so the passports sound like a great thing. Also, learning while doing is great, too!

Thanks again:}

In our experience w/the passports, some CM's will also give you a bit of information on their country!

For example:

*A little lesson on Henry VIII in England.
*A bit of information on artists in France.
*The CM in Germany sang DS a children's song in German.
*In Morocco, they write from right to left as opposed to the way we do in the US.

Also, the CM's will write something in the passport ... and they will tell you what it means. Do not forget to write down the English translation ... otherwise, you might not have any idea!

And, have your children ask them a question about their country -- you'll be amazed at the answers you receive!

The best thing about the passports is that they are a natural conversation starter for kids to approach the World Showcase CM's. Even a shy child can get a wonderful interactive experience going by presenting a passport to a CM. You don't necessarily have to buy a $12 passport either, an autograph book will work just as well. In my experience, these CMs or "friendship ambassadors" are one of Epcot's most valuable and accessible resources. Too many people whoosh through EPCOT hitting the rides at Mexico and Norway and skipping the countries that don't have that type of attraction. I htink the passports are an inspired idea but I actually hope they don't get too much more popular or the CM's may be too busy for us! ;)

I agree with all the posters the passports are a wonderful thing! :) It's a great way for the kids to learn a little about each country in WS and actually talk to people from that country.
