Ok, so MK is out of the picture on July 4th for us, due to crowds. How is Epcot? More reasonable? Thanks for your feedback!

I have heard it is more manageable because it is bigger. We usually do MGM but this year we are doing epcot.

The fireworks at Epcot are awesome!!! They also project images on Spaceship Earth. Worth going for the fireworks.

We always start the day at AK on the 4th. But then head over to Epcot for the fireworks. We have never had a horrible time with the crowds. If you go knowing it will be crowded you can do just fine

thanks for info. at first, we were avoiding all parks, due to crowds, but after thinking it over I wanted to do something on July 4, since we'll just be arriving late on July 2, so July 4 would be our first day at a park.....so initially I started thinking about AK, then EPCOT and MGM....anything but MK....

so, what would be best? Epcot or MGM? we already have dinner ressie at Ohana's at 730pm, hoping to view fireworks from window seat....however, if we're at a park...and enjoying ourselves, we may end up just staying and toughing out the crowds to see any fireworks that are there....

thanks for your opinions! :flower:

We're going to the PSB in Epcot on the 4th and doing some touring until it gets crazy or the kids want to go back to the hotel to swim - whatever comes first. I think as long as you are at Epcot or MGM when it first opens you should be fine for awhile. We're staying at GF and even with being that close I won't brave MK with three small children.

Thanks DisneyMomx7....

assuming that the past history; usual early mornings schedule, Epcot should be opened early for Mon, Jul 4 - so going there for an early morning sounds good....however, I'm wandering what the evening will look like for July 4 activites....Does anyone know what the past July 4 at Epcot as been like? do they usually have the same fireworks, Illuminations show that happens every night or anything different for July 4? ....and crowds at Epcot for July 4 evening?

There is an extra fireworks show at the end of Illuminations that is awesome. We got to Epcot at 8:45 and still had a great spot for fireworks.

I've never seen the Epcot fireworks, but we saw the MGM ones last year on the 4th and I thought they were okay...not great, but okay. I want to try to see Epcot's or MK's this year :teeth:
