Hi all,

We are arriving at Disney World for our honeymoon on December 31st at 7:00 AM. We're taking a red-eye flight so we will probably be pretty tired once we check in and may want to take a nap before we head over to Epcot where we have reservations for that day. My only worry is that since it's New Year's Eve, the park might fill up and we won't be able to get in.

Is this a reasonable worry?

If so, what time should we head to the park by to ensure that we get in?

Thanks!

Congratulations on your wedding! My DH and I got married on Dec. 28, 2002 and left for our honeymoon also on Dec. 31, but we went to Cancun. Anyway, back to your question. We will be celebrating our 5th anniversary this year at Disney and it is what we have done for 4 out of our 5 years of marriage. Our first anniversary, we spent New Year's Eve at Epcot and it was extremely crowded. By 4:00 or 5:00 you could hardly move around the world showcase. I was about 2 months pregnant with our 1st child and we ended up leaving and going back to our resort but we were miserable. Had I not been pregnant, it may have been very different. But, yes it does fill up so expect crowds. I wouldn't wait too long to get there.

A side tip, when we went, we made ADR to eat in Germany at the time when it would really be New Year's in the real Germany. I can't remember the time(we may have made them for 5:30 for a 6:00PM New Year's) so you will have to do a little investigating checking out time zones but it was really fun. The whole restaurant and all the CM working there just went nuts and were singing and hugging and it was worth it. So if you can, try to get some reservations now!

I hope this all makes sense to you and I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon!

As mentioned before, it will be extremely crowded. But, you should be able to get in to Epcot later in the day. I was in Epcot for the last 2 New Year's Eves, and although their parking lot did fill to capacity, the park never closed.

Enjoy the day!
