How long after Illuminations can one stay in the park strolling around?

45-55 min.

The thing to do is watch IllumiNations near Germany, USA or Japan.
Then, take your time strolling out (either toward Mexico -or- Canada.)

That really would only take about 20-30 minutes at a very slow pace.

Then, you can shop at MouseGear for another 20 min. or so, and that would be about it.

There's no set time, but after 30-45 minutes the CMs will start pressing guests to leave.

Last year, DH and I watched Illuminations in front of Japan, then slowly made out way out. I'm sure it was an hour past closing when we reached the front of the park. Got lots of nice pictures, and it was a really cool atmosphere with so few people around. I highly recommend it!

We often stay at BWV so we use the IG to leave after Illuminations and I think the latest we've walked out the gate was @ 10:00 - 10:15 for a 9:00 Illuminations. I really enjoy those last few minutes in an "almost" empty park.

Had 9 o'clock dinner reservations at Teppan Edo last time we went. It was well after 10 when we finished dinner, walked out very slowly, and when we made it to the parking lot (we had driven), there were only two cars in the entire parking lot, ours and one other. That was pretty cool.
