Epcot Hours for Oct 9????

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I can't remember the answer. The hours listed for Epcot on Oct 9 are 9-3. Does anyone know why the early close time? I am helping a friend plan a trip and was curious as to the strange time. Thanks

They are having a press event for the official opening of Mission Space. Myself and a few other Dissers are hoping that will make the crowds light and are planning on going that day them jumping to another park. If your friends have park hoppers there is a spectromagic parade and the new wishes fireworks that night at MK.

Thanks so much! They do have hoppers and may decide to do Epcot in the day and hop over to MK that night. I appreciate the help.
