Epcot Honeymoon vs Wedding photo shoot?

I am thinking about doing one of these. I know the honeymoon shoot is a lot cheaper, but I'm wondering about the quality of the photos. Does anyone have examples of either? Thanks so much!

Am I remembering right that the honeymoon shoot is done while the park is open? If so, that's one thing to consider ... do you want to have the place to yourselves or do you mind shooting around other people? And of course the other thing is deciding whether or not you want to wear your gown or just "regular" clothes.

We did a shoot in Epcot the day after our vow renewal last month. These are a few of the Disney previews:

Hope this helps a bit! :)

Those are beautiful! I would LOVE to do the wedding shoot, but my fiance doesn't want to pay $650 "just to have pictures taken."

Is it important to be wearing your dress or not?

It would be ideal... See above, however.

Thank you for the nice compliment! And I totally understand about the price ... it's a big chunk of money. We went back and forth on it and added it at the last minute. I know this probably won't make you feel any better, but the price is now $750. :( But I will say that it was a really neat experience and we got some really nice pictures from it. And my dh and I are really sentimental about Epcot, so that helped convince us to do it.

But I'm sure the honeymoon shoot would be great, too! I love the photos I've seen from Disneyland shoots during park hours, so I'm sure you'd get some wonderful ones at Epcot. :goodvibes

Oh, wow! It went up to $750? Well, it's a good thing I'm in charge of the budget! :D I love Epcot! It's my favorite park by far. I've read everything I can get my hands on about it. I even have the original EPCOT logo on my ankle... My fiance doesn't really care all that much. So I would be the only one who was really gung-ho about it. Maybe I'll be able to work out a deal with him. lol!

Wow! You *are* a fan! That's awesome! :thumbsup2

I actually ended up being the one who sort of "paid" for the shoot (since it wasn't in our budget) because I was cleaning out my old jewelry box and found a bunch of old yellow gold necklaces and charms that I forgot I had. I took them to the mall and sold them to one of the gold buying places and got almost enough to pay for the whole thing! So if you get really creative, maybe you can talk him into it! Good luck!! :goodvibes

That's awesome! I'll have to find a way to make some extra cash between now and December! It's awesome that you found a way to make it happen :)

as a past disney bride with a MK shoot, here is my 0.02, and i can list all the reasons if you would like but i will just cut to the chase -
i would either-
A) find the funds to do a Disney Fine Art Photography shoot in EPCOT (before park hours)
OR
B) hire a great photographer (David and Vicki Arndt are our faves!) and do a few resorts - you can get WDW flavor and absolutely reliable results - including editing, rights to your pictures and MANY more pictures, for i’m sure under the quoted disney price.
:thumbsup2

Isn't option A the same thing as the Epcot wedding shoot?

sort of? they have pics on their website that *look* like an empty park so that would be it i guess. i thought they used to offer something in park/no wedding clothes, but maybe that was it (i.e., during park hours)? my concern there (aside from the amount/quality of finished product you get for the cost) is truly getting enough pictures without 8 gazillion people in the background. our MK shoot started at a time in which people were streaming through the castle to eat breakfast with cinderella. most of our pics didn’t have people in them but a few key ones did. and they wanted to charge a fee to photoshop them out. which was at least possible. :goodvibes

Oh, wow. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the $750 Epcot shoot is before the park opens. I'm sorry that happened at MK :(

That's right. :) We weren't completely alone, though, as there were people working everywhere, especially in Italy. For the door shot, we had to re-do it several times because people kept coming through while I was standing there, LOL! They were carrying maintenance equipment, chairs, etc.! But of course that's nothing like having a bunch of guests to contend with. It's much easier to get nice photos without other guests around. ::yes::

I had an engagement Disney epcot photoshoot that was done in park before it opened. Some pics are in my pj. see link below

Pricing was $340 for DVC - 425? for non dvc i think maybe?

an hour with photographer
got all 4x6 prints and an album of 24 i got to pick out after.
Remember that disneys costs include prints and things!

Pixie I love your photos!!

OP I think you should go ahead and do the one with your dress on. You can always do a regular photoshoot through Disney Photography for an anniversary or another trip. But the pictures in a park with the dress are both a once in a lifetime opportunity and also a really cool experience. It is the only thing I really wish I could have done for my wedding.

There are so few opportunities to wear the dress we picked out and paid a fortune for, so I say do it up! I am going to start wearing mine to the grocery store or while home doing laundry just to get some use out of it. lol. I am just kidding, but seriously, wear that dress!

There's a DVC discount?!?! Don't ask me how I did it, but I showed him pictures of all the different photo shoots and he chose the MK shoot! I have no idea how he went from not wanting to spend $700 to spending $1000!

Congratulations! The DVC discount only works on NON bridal shoots. The MK photoshoot is one thing i can't wait to do despite the cost... I'm wrestling with the need to add another park or not!

The MK shoot is $1,500 - $1,700 if you combine it with another park. Here is the link to the 2012 bridal portrait brochure: https://www.etsy.com/listing/101097152/main-street-confectionary-mickey

And actually...according to this...the other shoots have gone up to $850! :scared1: Didn't they just increase them to $750 recently?!

As the PP stated, no DVC discounts on the bridal shoots (in wedding attire).

Yup! I posted this on the FB group, but when dh looked into it 2 months ago it was $650 on the paperwork he received, then when we booked a month later it was $750, and now exactly one month later, it's $850!!
