Epcot Fun Dinner with a 5 year old

I am getting ready to make some PS's in the next 2 weeks (can't belive we're almost at 90 days)! I have read so much on this board that I feel we have tons of great PS ideas for everywhere except Epcot. We have never been to this park (we've only been to Disney twice and for very brief stays). Although Le Collier sounds wonderful, we have a 5-year-old and we're hoping to find a place that would be entertaining for her. It's possible that this might not even be necessary as we will be there during the Food and Wine Festival, but I thought it would be good to have a place that we could sit down for a while and would be fun for DD. Any ideas on a fun place or should we just pick and sample from the festival??? Thanks for all your help in advance! I am truely addicted to this board

Sampling would be the best probably -- then you can catch the street performers' shows which will definitely capture the attention of your 5-year-old. But for sitdown, I recommend the Biergarten in Germany. They have a musical show during it, and your 5-year-old might get picked to be the special conductor!! In addition to truly German foods, it serves some staples that most kids would like (mac and cheese, sausage, desserts).

Garden Grill is a character meal with Mickey dressed-up as a farmer! The restaurant revolves slightly also, so you can see some of the ride below! I think most kids would enjoy it! They have kids food selections also.

I think a 5 year old would really enjoy the Coral Reef at the Living Seas. My kids all loved it there.

My vote is also for the Garden Grill....Character Dinner, what 5 year old wouldn't love that!!

We've got a 5 YO and a 3 YO and we are going to try both the Garden Grill and the buffet at Germany. They both sound fun!!

Restaurant Marrakesh has a G-rated belly dancer, who usually interacts with the children. The food is not as exotic as it sounds, I think most people could find something to their liking.(IMHO) I love it all!

I vote Garden Grill, not only are there characters, but the restaurant actually rotates! (very very slowly.)

we asked the same question before our last trip and were directed towards teppanyaki and my 2 DD 8 and 4 just LOVED IT!!!!

they made special little chop sticks for them and the chef made it such an interesting experience for them ,,,they have different foods for them to try along with "chicken and steck"

My kids have enjoyed Coral Reef - the aquarium and Marrakesh - the dancer. Their kids' menu has regular food on it.

Its definitely not a character meal, but the kids just LOVE it and..... uh.... ya know, some grown ups too!!

My daughter first went to the Coral reef when she was 5 and wants to go every trip now. Better to eat there for maybe a late lunch, as dinner can be expensive. If you do that, then you can just make that a nice late mid day break and get "snacks" later at the food booths.
Have never done Garden Grill, but any character sit downs have always been a fun and very relaxing.

I add a vote for teppanyaki. My 5 year old (slightly picky) twin boys loved it and ate almost their whole plate of food! They were given special chopsticks to eat with and umbrellas to go in their sodas - they loved it!

My 4 1/2 year old loved Garden Grill, Tepanyaki and also loves the Food and Wine Festival.

My kids love Coral Reef and Biergarten! Coral Reef provides at an incredible atmosphere and view! My toddler is especially mesmerized by the fish, and Biergarten is just alot of fun...with yodeling and dancing! Plus, the buffet offers something for everyone!

Can't go wrong with any of the above. We did Teppanyaki for the first time earlier this month and my DGD9 declared it her new favorite restaurant. The other 3 little girls and the adults in our group loved it too.

Wow, so many choices and they all sounds like so much fun! That's the hardest part about this trip, picking and choosing from all the wonderful things available! Didn't know there were so many for the younger set at Epcot, but I really have researched this park the least I'm still trying to convince my husband that our DD will have fun there at all, as he sees it as the "adult park" Thanks for all the ideas. We have eaten a few times at Jap. Steak Houses, so I guess now we have got to choose between Coral Reef and German food (the dancing really does sound like fun ! Your all the best!
