Epcot FP+ tiers gone...for now.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm going to bring a print out with my reservations as well. They're still showing up on the computer, so I don't see why they wouldn't be valid, but a hard copy should be a good back up.

I feel like that's something that I'd call a "manager" for. It's not worth the hassle to them they'd let you through though curious about what happens when people try and use them! Keep us updated!

I go in 11 days and was able to change my Epcot and DHS fast pass..I will report back if I have any problems with my new selections.

I wish the powers that be at Disney could read this thread and see how excited people were at finding what appeared to be a work-around to the repugnant tiering they're imposing on guests. They really need to ditch it.

That would be like the powers that be at Brinks hearing how excited people were when one of their trucks crashed sending cash flying around for people to scoop up if they happened to be there.

I am leaving Friday and Saturday I am going to DHS. I was able to change Fantismic to the 7 show. Swapped out American Idol for TSM, but got a time over our ADR supper, so I chose 8-9 p.m. I will post and report how it went. I think I will print out hard copies today. I almost forgot how important it is anyway to have backup. Ohana never has my name and I am always glad that I could give them my confirmation # and miraculously they find my name.

That you equated yesterday's boon--which was little else but a return to prior ways--to an example of stealing is telling.

I admit to not reading all 13 pages, but can anyone tell me if this is working for same day, off site guests? Can I enter the park, make my FP picks and then change them to 2 tier ones?
ETA - never mind. Read back a few pages and saw that it's not working anymore.
Oh well. Really wanted to ride Soarin and TT on the same day / but standby will be very long for pres week. If we spend our first moments in the park making FP reservations, the lines will build. If we ride one first, there will be a huge line just to make our FP reservations - seems like we can't win.

As of now it looks to not be working any longer :(

Lighten up.

If you saw my messages yesterday while this was going on, I didn't consider it stealing. If I had a trip upcoming, I would have taken advantage of it too.

You should also know that I have NEVER suggested that anyone who took maximum advantage of the paper FP system was doing anything wrong.

But, I'm sure Disney knows that a lot of people would like to get FPs for both Test Track and Soarin or TSMM and RNRC in the same day. They also know that capacity constraints make that impossible without compromising their obvious goal of creating a more level distribution of FPs to all guests.

Maybe you'd like this analogy better. I don't think a gas station would have to lower its prices to $1 a gallon to see if its customers would like to see something return to the way it used to be.

your analogy is more accurate if it is a fed ex truck.

what the truck was carrying was meant for other customers. It is the other customers harmed.

in this case, their fast pass will be rendered a stand by pass as people gobble up more fp reservations than disney can actually accommodate.

The archives are there. Prove it.

Sorry, I'm not going to go back through months and months of posts. I have better uses for my time.

I have a good memory. I am sure others will agree with me.

Your analogy of stealing in your post above is enough evidence.

when the rubber hits the road, the ride can only accommodate so many people. If a restaurant gives out more reservations then tables available, you know what happens? long waits is what happens.

So you are assuming the FP given out yesterday are somehow separate and are going to result in more FP given out overall? I don't. Whatever the total number of Test Track FP Disney intends to give out is the same IMO.

I would think that Disney puts a cap on the # of FP's allowed for each time slot, to avoid abnormally long FP lines. I hope at least!

still can't be done
No, nothing on this yet. Of all of the things some people would like to see changed, this is the last one that I would expect to ever happen. Maybe if they start making more FPs available same day for guests who also have advance FP+ reservations you could get a second one. But, same day availability for the most popular rides would probably be pretty slim.

Didn't think so but a girl can hope right :)

There are a limited number of FP+ slots. I don't think their IT is so incompetent they would allow more people to reserve slots than slots available.

But you never know.

:dancer:

Too bad the gas station analogy didn't pop into your mind first.

In this case your memory is selectively convenient, but not necessarily accurate.

And I can't do anything about the conclusion you choose to draw about that analogy, even though I think it was pretty clear that I used it to show that a completely predictable reaction to an event does not add anything to a company's knowledge about how its customers or the general public will respond to it.

I repeat. Disney knows that there are a lot of guests who would like unlimited FP's, no tiering, etc. Yesterday's incident, whether it was purely a glitch or not, does not tell them anything they didn't already know, and isn't going to make them any more likely to remove tiers in the future.
